wanna be fit at 50

I will be 52 soon and the last two years have been great with the help of Sparkpeople. I made a decision about turning 50, and it was that I would get my weight and health habits under control, before they began to control me. I've lost a total of 48 pounds, but over the last few months have gained 5 back. Now that the weather is getting nicer I have been more motivated to exercise more and I feel confident that I can lose those 5 and another 3 to reach my goal weight! I have 2 kids, 17 and ...

Wanted to answer your question, "Did you walk outside today?" No I didn't! It never got out of the 30's. So....when I got home tonight after work, I did the 3-mile walk at home DVD with Leslie Sansone. I had only done the 2-mile before, and did it quite a bit this winter, but decided to push it up a notch today. I really want to lose these last 4 pounds, and I know the only way to do that is exercise more and eat less! So I'm going to do what I can!!
I am now on vacation for the next 11 days, so I am going to try to keep it up. Wish me luck!! I wish you the same!

Saw your comment on another blog. You mentioned you were getting close to your goal and I see you are almost there! I too, am close to my goal and very curious to read comments from others who are worrying about maintenance. So many people fail at it, and regain their weight, I don't want to be one of those. So I'm going to continue to read blogs and comments by people who are working through it--trying to figure out the strategies and mindsets they are using, especially if they are having success. I plan to steal whatever I can to help me in my own maintenance! Hope that's okay with you?
