Well, here I am again, another year, weighing a little more than the when I first started. About a year ago, I stopped paying attention and started back making the same old choices, and like they say, I got the same results--gained my weight back plus a few more pounds. Okay! I am going to kick this overeating habit. 2013 and a little wiser about the discipline and hard work that I need to do.

And I know that I need support from others--can't do it by myself.

My Goals:

I love to garden, quilt, read . I used to love to hike , backpack & camp, particularly in the high Sierra. I also like to sew and just started quilting a few years ago--lots to learn.

Hello! I added you as a friend, I hope you don't mind. I do have an awesome beagle that is always into trouble! haha

As for Paleo, we eat fresh vegetables, fruit, meat, and nuts 95% of the time. Like everyone, there are times when we're out all day and have to grab something but even then, we try to eat Paleo. We do give ourselves breaks sometimes. For instance, yesterday was my boyfriend's birthday so we had cheesecake but we had lobster tail and steak for dinner (Paleo).

The biggest difference with us/ our Paleo is that we still eat dairy. He does it because he is 165 pounds and almost 6 foot tall, so he needs the extra fat in milk. I do it because I have thyroid disease thus low calcium, and when reading the research for and against dairy, I believe the benefits from drinking milk are far more than not doing it.

The issue we face the most is price. It's expensive but we shop sales. It's Lent so all the seafood is on sale so we bought yellowfin tuna, salmon, and lobster tails while they're cheap. Fruit and veggies of course also come in and out of season so we try to buy what's in season/ not ridiculously priced. Frozen veggies are okay, though not preferred for Paleo so we have some broccoli and cauliflower in the freezer for when we need it.

I was traveling for much of the last challenge. But I had a great time with my daughter. We went to Mexico for some quality mommy/daughter time (she's 22). It was fun, but I'm ready to get back into the next challenge.
