One step at a time

I have had a weight problem for nearly 32 of my 43 years. In the last decade, I have had numerous health problems arise, and being fat isn't helping any of them. I want to lose some weight, improve my health and live a little longer than the experts say I should.

My Goals:
I want to live healthier, and a lot longer than the experts are telling me to plan on!

I want to wear my mother's ring on my finger again, and not on my necklace!

My Program:
By making changes to my diet and doing my best to exercise on most days, I hope to lose at least 50 lbs.

Native to Georgia, but am living in Jacksonville, FL.

My definition of courage: do it afraid. Whatever "it" is, even though you are scared, do "it" anyway.

Other Information:
I love to crochet, to read, to play games on my computer, to interact with my cats, and especially to spend time with my family and friends.

We're down to the last 18 days to Christmas. Are you ready? Do you have a plan to survive the holidays? Nutritionally? Emotionally? Fitness? Now is as good a time as any to get your plan in place.

Me, I am going to keep focusing on one day at a time, getting in my nutrition and fitness for that day. As for emotional survival, I will be sure to take care of me during these stressful couple of weeks. Maybe get a mani/pedi. New hair style? Haven't really decided yet.

With the days getting shorter, and the snow starting to fly (at least around here it is), it is getting harder and harder to find motivation to keep exercising. I do most of my fitness outdoors - running. I am also finding I do not want to drink as much water in this colder weather.
Despite this, I am determined to continue on my journey.
What are you doing to overcome your barriers to fitness? How are you keeping yourself motivated during this holiday season?

I hope your weekend went well. If not, today is a new day. Commit to make you a priority today. What does that look like for you for today? Exericse? A manicure? Doing something that you are afraid to do to prove to yourself you can do it?

Best luck on your new week. Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Make the most of it.

Today is Day 2 of successes for me. I am focused. I am on track. I want to push myself towards my goal. No more waiting for it to come to me.

I have eaten clean both days. I have gotten out and burned calories each day.

Tomorrow is a fresh start for me. I need to decide if I am going to push myself to day 3, or if I am going to sit back on my laurels and wait for success to come to me.

I know what I am going to try to decide tomorrow. What about you? What are you going to decide to do today? Wait for success, or go out and chase it down?
