Because I'd like to be around in 10-15 years.

I've always been a little heavy, but a medication I was put on caused me to have insatiable hunger and my weight quickly ballooned to 200 lbs. That's a lot for my 5'3" frame with no muscles. As soon as I put on weight, my back began to act up. My sciatica is debilitating. When it flares up, I can't walk, stand, or sleep comfortably. I'm tired ALL the time. As soon as I put on weight, my back began to act up. My sciatica is debilitating. When it flares up, I can't walk, stand, or sleep comfortably. I'm tired ALL the time. I'm in school to become a Medical Assistant, so I need to take care of myself to set an example for my patients.

In my down time I've been researching nutrition and fitness information. I enjoy crafts such as sewing and scrapbooking.

My Favorite Fitness Things: The boxing game on my Nintendo Wii Fit is my favorite. The best yoga DVD I've come across has been Yoga For The Rest Of Us. The instructor really takes her time with simple stretches that feel great. The best running shoes I've owned are New Balance with a stability heel that helps correct my over-pronation.

I've had some rough stuff happen in my life in the past, and it's affected my self-esteem. I'm trying to heal the hurt, right some wrongs, and move onto the next chapter of my life.

My Goals:
Short term: Lose 5 pounds to lessen the strain on my body. Stretch every day.

Long term: Lose 53 pounds. Be active every day. Know what I'm putting into my body.

My Program:
Gentle stretching and drink lots of water until my sciatica settles down. 1200 calories a day.

Personal Information:
28 year old happily married woman in Utah. No children, but we adore our pets.

Other Information:
I'm a reader, sometimes I finish a book in a week. My favorite movie is Big Fish. I love 80's music like The Talking Heads & The B52's.
