I am a 28-year-old female who lives near Flint, MI. I have 100+ pounds to lose, so I feel rather defeated already, but I know that I need to start loosing weight ASAP. I am only getting older, and while I do not have any health problems related to my weight at this time, I realize that if I do not begin losing weight, I am putting myself at an extreme risk for health problems. I have a bit of a difficult relationship with weight loss. When I was in college, I lost 50 lbs. during February of my freshman year, and I was the thinnest I have ever been (150); however, that weight loss was due to intentionally not eating and working out for over 4 hours a day. Looking back, I am still amazed that I was able to do that to myself knowing how harmful it was to my body, but it is easy to fall into maladaptive behavior patterns when the weight loss is so quick. I also was relatively bored at that time. I had few friends and classes were easy. Obsessing about weight and diet filled my time so that I did not have the time to feel lonely. I share this information because I know how to lose weight correctly, but I often find myself either falling off the wagon and cheating or the complete opposite, becoming too obsessed and going overboard.
My main goal is to lose weight and be healthier. I also would like to have more energy, keep the house cleaner, and get up easier in the morning.
Right now, I am just setting up the spark page and monitoring how much food and activity I currently do. I think I need a baseline level before I can adequately set a goals in both areas.
I live outside of Flint, MI. I am a 28-year-old female. I am a school psychologist by profession, and I love my job and working with children.
If you live in the Flint area and share any of my interests, I am always looking for new friends to walk with or go to movies or even go out to eat on occasion. I am married, so I am not interested in romantic relationships, but I welcome any platonic relationships.
