I want to RE-regain the spring in my step!

It's my 1-year Sparkiversary today, and boy have I back slid. I got to a low of 206.5 lbs in early September, when I started a seasonal job, and it took only 3 short months to quit exercising regularly, stop measuring portions, stop tracking AND pack 13 pounds and 3 inches back on the ol' bod. Yikes. This year I've got to not only find a decent-paying job, but also find a balance between fitness, family life and working. I'm looking forward to feeling more energized and less in pain. Not exercising (beyond wimpy dog walks) has aggravated my scoliosis and made my joints ache. Also not looking forward not so much to a root canal in my near future, but I'll be glad to get a good night's sleep for a change. Thanks for being there, Sparkers - the support, the SparkGoodies and the inspiration have been what got me this far - and the motivation to get going again to my goal!

I used to be fit - really! But having a baby at 41 really did my metabolism in, as well as some medications I had to be on. I've managed to lose 20 pounds from my all-time high of 265 lbs. - but even that took 5 years. Now I want to lose weight, but more importantly lose the achy joints, tiredness, self-disgust that goes with being obese. OMG, I hate that term. I look forward to sleeping better, being able to bend, giving away my fat clothes, and being around to torment my 8-year old for a long long time!

Mini goal for February: get into the 220s by the end of the month.
update: Not quite, but close - was 233 on Feb. 28.
UPdate: 3/25/10: down to 226 - very much out of the 230s!

March 8, 2010 update: As of this date, I've lost 15 pounds (5% of my start weight), and taken off 6.5 inches from my waist, belly, hips and thighs. Way to go A-ME!

Goal for March: this is kind of a long shot because I seem to be slow loser, but I'd love to get to 220.5 by my birthday April 8.
Update: 04-21-10: Took 4 1/2 months to get there, but I've lost 20 pounds! 4.5 pounds to go 'til that 10% mini-goal.
Update: 05-08-10: 10% goal met. 25 lbs gone!

Going to spend the summer getting to "onederland", i.e. 195 lbs by August 31. 2010.

To look amazing in my wedding dress on our 10th anniversary on September 16. When we married in Montpelier, I was tipping the scales at just over 200 lbs.

Lose a total of 95 pounds by or before DD's 9th birthday (Dec. 12, 2010)

Other goals of mine:
Floss daily
8 hours of sleep nightly
Drink 2 litres or more of water daily
60 min. of cumulative cardio 6 days a week

My Goals:
Update: As I continue on my journey, I realize I don't want to go back in time. So I'm re-wording this goal:
To keep moving forward and reveal a new me with vibrant health and boundless energy.

My Program:
Since I already eat very healthily, I think one of the main things is portion control! More veggies, drink water water water, restrict the butter and cut out the sugary baked goods.

60 (cumulative) min. of cardio every day is a major exercise goal for me. I used to love to weight train, bicycle and walk - and I'm getting to know the fit person who's been dormant for nearly 20 years.

M&M's Thought Of The Day:

Fitness in is earned, not bestowed - a process, not a magic trick - an investment, not a miracle.

Don't Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill.
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh.
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
