Well, I could have done better with counting what I've eaten on weekends. It's always a 'well, this is what I remember eating' issue on Monday morning.

Keep counting! Even if you know you've gone over. You might be surprised :) Friday for example I thought was all a write-off, but I was only 5 calories over! Plus, the more you do it, the more it will become second nature. (Saturday was bad, but not nearly as bad as the previous one!)

How did your weekend go? What did you get up to? Were you good?

I could have gotten away with vodka and club soda or something, but my boyfriend and dad just split a batch of you-brew beer... so we have a lot of beer around, which I prefer anyway. Heh, well on the bright side, we only have a dozen left of our portion. I need to get into the habit of picking up a mickey of flavoured vodka or something instead. Definitely calorie cheaper! And it was my boyfriend and mine's first anniversary on Friday (yay!) so we had bubbles too.

What is your plan for drinking through the holidays?

Light beer IS gross. Bleck!

The caesar salad is actually OK. It's a homemade dressing and I've adapted it to be a vinaigrette, which I like much more anyway. With the parmesan and croutons and, even with the non-creamy caesar, it's not exactly the healthiest salad around, but it's much better than my whining made it sound :P

All those aside, the weekend was great! On Thursday we went to dinner with people from Boy's branch and then got a ride to my folks'. First thing Friday morning we left for the cabin. We drove to the little town my parents are thinking of moving too and did a drive-by sneak peek at a house they're looking at. It's much smaller (pretty much the point of moving) and has some work to be done, but it's in a nicer area of town and has a decent sized lot. And it's only 4 blocks from the beach! All of this is contingent on their place selling before this one though :\. There was like a foot of snow at the cabin. My boyfriend had never made a snowman before (Aussie) so we made his first snowman on Friday afternoon. He's so funny to watch with the snow, like a little kid - you'd never know he's 27 :p

OK, so I'm rambling now, but all in all, the weekend was great, good food, great to see people I hadn't in a while and we got the perfect Christmas tree! And I wasn't as naughty with my food as I thought :)

Yea... I'm not sure how I'm going to make it through the holidays either... If last weekend (first of the many Christmas parties) is any indication I'm going to fail miserably. To my best estimate I ate over 3600 calories on Saturday alone! Well, today is my weigh in day and I haven't gained anything since last week which is good I guess. I weighed myself Monday morning and I had gained 2lbs! At least I'm back to where I was :(

I have another party this weekend that will last the better part of two days. Between two huge dinners, one huge lunch, the sort of breakfast that I only eat when other people cook it... It's going to be a mess! And that's not even accounting for booze. Oi.

OK, so we'll get through this. We can do this! Repeat after me: Moderation. Moderation. Moderation. Moderation. Moderation.

Got that? I sincerely hope I do. I do not need to have 14 of everything I like. I do not need to eat myself into a coma. I do not need to drink a day's worth of calories. I will have 1 (ONE!!!!) of everything I like. I won't bother with the stuff I don't like. I'm going to drink water. Lots and lots of water!

I've been asked to make the salad for one of the dinners. Woot, right? Nope. The hostess has asked for the highest calorie salad ever - Caesar.

Heh, can you tell I'm fretting a little about the holidays too?
