This Time It Is Going To Work!

My weight loss journey began January 1, 2006. With the help of SparkPeople I lost 40 pounds and I was feeling healthy and confident I could reach my goals. Instead, that confidence led me in a different direction: to a job as an administrator of our small school district. I love the challenges of the new job and the chance to reach an entire school full of children, but my spark energy fizzled and in one year I gained 50 pounds. Now I am determined to renew the spark. My Goals:
My goals are to get my weight within the normal range, look better, feel better, and improve my overall health. I want to get rid of my sugar and refined carb addictions, and crave only good healthy food.

My Program:
I am tracking my food and water intake daily, and keeping it at the low end of my alloted calorie range. I have been striving for daily cardio, and track all exercise. I have great friends and family who are a daily support.

Personal Information:
I am literally and figuratively a Happy Camper. My four children are all grown, and now is the time to take care of me. I am happily married and will be celebrating a 30 year anniversary soon.

Other Information:
I live in the most beautiful place in the world, and everyday enjoy the mountains and trees and the river that surround me. I am a teacher who loves to teach, but I also love summer vacation. I love my garden, traveling, the ocean, and being with my family.

Thanks for the support and encouragment. To answer your question about my profile pic- it was taken this summer at the Grand Canyon! Couldn't ask for a better backdrop...but notice how half of me is hiding!

I have never "met" anyone else who had the same experience in Egypt! Hope you didn't sell your daughter either. emoticon

Thanks so much for the add and the goodie.

I am hopeful that dorm food has changed a bunch since I was in college since that was eons ago. emoticon I am hoping for a salad bar at a minimum. We will be out doing field research so I should get some walking in there and I am taking my weights and CE DVDs. I am still debating on running as I am not familiar with the area and don't want to do anything that wouldn't be "safe". I am so spoiled being able to run on my rural roads where I know everyone and traffic is sparse.

You are doing so well. Stay strong!
