Hey Cary! How's it going? I haven't been consistently doing 10 mins. of fitness every day, but I have been doing it more than I was, which is good. Looking forward to the fresh start that is 2012!!! My PT recommended that I do 10 mins. of biking, 10 mins. of elliptical, and 10 mins. of walking, that way I don't completely overwork any muscles. What type of physical activity have you been doing? How are your walks going?

So how are you doing w/your 10 mins. of fitness p/day? I only did 5 mins. one day but then did more than 15 the next day, so I think it evened out. But, I'm going to do an extra streak day at the end to make up for it. I've been doing good w/it! I've been doing a min. of 10 mins. p/day & usually my morning walk w/Trixie counts for it. For me, it's just getting into a routine. With all of the travelling, and gearing up for our move while job hunting, etc., it's been tough. But, I'm making it a priority. I just realized that I've been on SP for almost a yr. and haven't hit my goal weight yet (obviously it's about more than that, but I was shocked)! So, I'm kicking my butt in gear!!! For me, I think I was doing it half @SS before, so no more!!!

Hey Cary, Congrats on getting in 2.5 miles, that's awesome! Are you working out in the mornings before work? I know you have a pretty long commute, but if you can manage it, I always find that working out in the morning works better for me b/c there's less distractions (dinner, family, friends, etc.). Plus, you always have a ton of energy throughout the workday once you get used to waking up so early.

Yesterday was my 2nd training day. Well, it was more than that but they only give you 3 training days per week & then you can cross train or rest on the other days. Ironically, I was only supposed to do 1 mile & ended up doing 1.5 plus walking Trixie. Whoops, @ least now I'm ahead! Just took Trixie for a half an hour walk and I'm covered in sweat! It's HOT out here...It's been in the 90s or around 100 every day lately!

My first day volunteering @ the Humane Society went well. I didn't stay long b/c I had some other things that I needed to do, but I got to take some dogs out for a walk which was nice. They were all sweethearts.

I'm sure you're going to do great @ the half marathon! You should get Syb to walk with you one day for a mile or two since it's through Team in Training. That would help make things more fun! Also, maybe look into getting some new MP3s if you use an MP3 player @ all. I always find that a new playlist makes things much more interesting even if you're doing the same exercise.
