Barbara - Maintenance Mode

As you can probably tell from the title of my page, I am in maintenance. I've been in maintenance since October, 2010. This is my second time at maintenance and I learned that I still need to watch what I eat and exercise consistently if I want to stay at the weight and health level I am currently.

As far as eating is concerned, there are places that I can improve. I drink way too much Diet Pepsi. I like the energy drink NOS and I probably eat way more salt and fat than I ...

As far as eating is concerned, there are places that I can improve. I drink way too much Diet Pepsi. I like the energy drink NOS and I probably eat way more salt and fat than I should. Those are areas to work on in the coming year.

For 2013, my fitness goals are similar to 2010 and 2011 and 2012, since I didn't reach them! I want to do at least one unassisted pull up. I would like to continue my freshly restarted lifting program so that my arms have definition. Ultimate goal is to not have "flapping" underarms, but not sure if that is a possibility without surgery. And I'm not having surgery!

For eating, I will work on decreasing my dependency on Diet Pepsi and energy drinks. I have done better with both, but they are still part of my diet. I will continue my quest in making the food choices about my health and well being, not just my weight. I would like to eat even fewer processed foods than I do now.

Above all, I want to continue to be a good example for my kids. My son actually told me the other day that it's easy for me to eat healthy because I don't like to eat. LOL! I explained to him that I LOVE to eat, but I have learned to eat smaller portions and avoid some foods. I don't think he believed me, but we're working on it.

My Goals:
Perform at least one unassisted pull-up by October 31, 2013.

Maintain current weight within a six pound range (three up, three down).

Eat to fuel my body and my life, not just be below my calorie range.

Participate in at least two 5k's with my kids by the end of the year.

My Program:
Cardio 6 days per week.

Lift four times per week. Two for upper body, two for lower body.

Walk for at least two minutes every hour during work hours - and sometimes on weekends if I remember!

Thanks for the thoughts! I am doing okay, busy trying to get everything done and get my work done as well. I am finally off for the rest of the week. Family will start arriving tomorrow.

Doing okay, trying to arrange everything. The funeral will be next Saturday at 3 pm and we expect over 100 people to attend between family and friends.

I am planning on working tomorrow and Tuesday not sure about the rest of the week. My brother and family will arrive Thursday afternoon.

Little Eucalyptus path gives me 9000 steps. Not bad for a morning walk. I'm still treading carefully but walking much better and I'm planning on Zumba tomorrow night. Will wear an ankle brace and will take it easy.
