Hi! I have struggled with food my entire life. About 2 years ago I decided, after years of trying to convince myself that I was "happy" being overweight, that I was done. I have stopped myself in my tracks and am trying to stay on he right path. I am excited to be a part of what looks to be a supportive and friendly community!

My Goals:
Everday it's the same thing.....pass up McDonald's, the donuts someone brought into work and the dish of chocolate sitting on my co-workers desk. I am learning the art of denying my urges and cravings. It's been two years and some days are still harder then others. Most of the time I overcome, but I still have my moments.
Mostly, I just want to keep feeling better. Since I've started losing weight, I handle stress better and I feel better. So, I will persevere!!!!!

My Program:
I try to keep a close eye on my caloric intake. I've tried counting the fat, carbs, etc... and it's just too much - overload! So I just keep it to calories and it seems to be working okay.
I hit the YMCA, 4 - 6 times a week. I do cardio for about an hour and got the doctor's okay to start some strength training again, which I'll do 3 times a week.

Personal Information:
I am a military brat, so I've lived here and there. My "here" now is the northwest part of Florida. The beaches here are beautiful! I don't have any children of my own but I do have seven awesome nephews and one on the way.
My partner is a wonderful man who plays the guitar beautifully and sings to me! (Who wouldn't love that?) He is teaching me to play the guitar and all I can say is that it's not as easy as it looks. Ken is a great motivator and very supportive of my efforts to lose weight. Having had other relationships with little or no support, I relaize how important it is.
We enjoy movies, and of course music.

Other Information:
I work as a victim advocate, primarily with battered women and their children. Here's what I've learned......no matter how bad I think I have it - someone has it a lot worse. I am blessed!

HEY!! Thank you!! Yes it is a new haircut. Thanks for noticing. I'm really loving it short. So much less hassle and I'm really saving on shampoo and conditioner. lol.
