Sparking has improved my life in so many other ways that the mere fact that I've lost weight doesn't seem as significant (even though it is, for health reasons!). I'm just as so happy to be part of this wonderful community of friends sharing a similar journey!

I try to eliminate processed foods entirely, and eat only whole foods. Lots of vegetables & protein, whole grains on occasion, and limited fruit (due to prediabetes)
I'm one-of-those odd people that enjoy cardio, as well as Strength Training, & workout faithfully 5-days-week. Knees are bad, so riding stationary bike in front of the TV is my go-to.

I totally get it CAROL_31649731, I have been in tears many times over this. I hate that we will essentially be forced to like it or leave it. So sorry you are feeling down, so sorry we are all feeling down. My heart is breaking for all of my friends who are feeling as sad as I am.

Yes, our bodies do their own things,,, according to the way we treat them. If I do not hit my 5%, I am VASTLY PROUD Of the 9 so far lost,,, mostly at least 10 lbs,,, will be just shy of the 11.5 I need to make it,,,, still while that is a "goal" it's NOT EVERTHING !! In NO WAY will I get down on myself if I do not make it, for LQQK at ALL I've ACCOMPLISHED !!! Ten lbs in 8 weeks is Excellent !!! FOr the Summer challenge,,, we will see what happens,,,, at the Wound Clinic this challenge,,,, they have 3 people who make the decisions for the next step.. I think I told you they are considering a partial amputation of the left big toe, which most likely will include the big bone at the top of it. BUT !!! Though 2 of said "it needs to be done" the 3rd Dr,,,, yeah they are putting me through ALL OF THEM (FRUSTRATING and promotes IMENSIVE ANXIETY !) says he has something else he wants to try first. It's along the line of what the other 2 have said ,,, to put it back into a cast. This cast is new on the market (or at least in Maine,,, which is OFTEN 10 yrs behind the time !) which I'll be put into on Monday. Once the ulcer heals,, and IT ALWAYS DOES in a cast,,, I'll be once AGAIN put back into my shoes. The Dr I'm currently working with is NOT HAPPY with the people who do my shoes. I get them from Hangers which they had my shoes made from a cast of both feet. Than they also put custom made otheo into my shoes,,, also made from a mold of my foot. I went into them a few months back, and at once my foot totally rebelled. They had been made 3 months before, and since my bones are constantly changing,,, they needed to be readjusted. I've been going through this ever since I started with Hangers,,, hmmm guessing at least 10 yrs ago. Right now they need to be readjusted again. They open up new ulcers when they don't fit expertly. Right now I have one main ulcer which needs to heal,, which yes,, as said the cast WILL DO without ANY doubt !! But, as soon as I go back into the shoes,,, no matter what it WILL reopen. The skin is shot to pieces. I've had this wound now for over a yr,,,, and that area has been a problem for 2 yrs.
While of course NO ONE WANTS an amputation,,,, I just want my LIFE BACK !! I MISS Swimming and regular walking ! Right now I am doing 60 to 90 mins of exercise,,, mostly "walking" that is using my knee walker,, with my bad foot up on that,,,, using my good leg to push the knee walker,, up and down the hallway. It's enjoyable because I put my kindle into the basket and read as I go. I'll continue this through the break. I am "GUESSING" we'll go between 4 to 8 weeks for the break,,, most likely 4 to 6 weeks, depending on how quickly people sign up.

Having a healthy snack right before you shop will put you in a healthier frame of mind & lead you to make smarter choices. Snacking on an apple may do more than just keep the doctor away.
If eaten before a grocery store trip, you may buy more freggies than if you ate a cookie (or didn’t have a snack at all). Don’t care for apples? Any nutritious snack will put you that mind frame.
