Building Self-Confidence

While I'm not exactly "overweight", I am heavy for my height (5' 2"). I'm tired of being heavier than my friends who are significantly taller than me and I don't like how my friends' legs are smaller than or the same size as my arms. I am most insecure about my legs because my calves and thighs look pretty large and "muscular". I hope to lose weight so I no longer have to avoid going to the beach or dread going to social events where I have to dress up with my friends. I want to lose weight ...

I want to lose weight to build my self-confidence as well as to learn how to eat and live healthier.

My Goals:
Well, I'm no longer growing any taller so I don't have an excuse to gain weight. I'm hoping to at least maintain my weight every year if I don't lose weight. Anyways, I'm hoping to get down to 120 but my ideal weight is 110.

While I'm at it, I hope to develop better eating habits and tone my stomach and legs. I want to get a flat stomach and I would love to get a 4-pack some day :) I also hope I'll be able to thin my leg some how. I'm not sure how to approach this one so I would love any suggestions!

My Program:
--track calories and reduce my portion size

--avoid eating mindlessly

--don't snack while doing late-night homework

--get adequate sleep

--exercise on a daily basis

Other Information:
As you can tell from my profile picture, I am a musician. I love to play the viola within orchestras, chamber ensembles, and solo. While I love music, I plan to major in electrical engineering and computer science.

I tried your idea using selzter water. I love it, thanks. I am leaning heavily towards the brand called Chill because it's super cheap.

thanks for the comment on my blog :) I hope your right.. I hope with this attitude I'll be able to do this! I have been trying for 6 years to get down to my goal weight..and each time I fall short by about 5 pounds! Maybe I'll be able to do this :) Yay on you also going to school! I just hate that feeling of like ugh.. I'm not where I want to be and school is starting. I almost wanted to go back to school.. (my second attempt at college) with people's first impression of me being that I'm just naturally thin.. HA.. not gonna happen and really in the end who even cares :)
