I'm 60 years old and don't want to spend the rest of my life overweight & tired! So...I am on a quest to drop some pounds and gain some energy.

6 month update: I have lost 17 pounds, but even more importantly, I have made some good lifestyle changes and I feel so much better! I have learned to love fruits and veggies, watch my portions, and look for opportunities for exercise. I have a ways to go, but am heading in the right direction!

1 year update: I made some slips, gained back a few pounds, but have turned around once again. Have lost 15 pounds overall, but I know that without SparkPeople, I probably would have gained another 15 pounds rather that losing 15. I'm feeling HEALTHY for the first time in years!

Thank you, CAROLSYLVIA, for taking a look at my blog and your faithful encouragement. Love your status update about Christmas preparations. This time of year is so full of wonder, joy, and tradition. This year, being a Sparkie, I have been doing things a little differently, definitely in a healthier direction. It feels great to have choices and opportunities to work in the new with the old; add a "Sparkle" shall I say? Happy Holidays!

Oh, my feet are so cozy and warm. Those slippers are great! Thanks so much! Now I think I'll do some squats and wall push ups while I'm feeling all cozy.

Thank you, CAROLSYLVIA, for your comments on my blog. I've never done vegetable soup for breakfast, but I not opposed at all! I'll have to give it a try.

I'm also going to try some of the winter squash in pie as you mentioned. It's large enough that I'll have plenty for many uses for sure.

Keep Sparking and thanks for the inspiration. emoticon

Oh, thank you for the advice. And yes, once in a while I make it to facebook or text something they've done or said on my phone. But, I do need to put it in a journal. You are right, it's so funny and cute, but then easily forgotten. Take care.
