Hi! My name is Carol. I'm 48. Married for 27 yrs to my high school sweetheart. I have 3 kids. But at 20, 18, 16 barely qualify as children anymore! They are all growing up fast and starting their own adventures. That's a good t'hing! Wonder what new adventures the future holds for me! I'm fairly active (I think!) I like to walk, read, swim, kayak, cook for my family and bake.

Current Status:
CAROLMAID is sad! The postage stamp lot across from mine has sold. Chainsaws buzzing..chopping down trees. Now I have to walk around the dirt road to lake and I will miss the pretty tree lined boulevard :(

My Goals:
Would love to lose at least twenty pounds. 30 would be better! I'll take even a couple at this point. But that's the goal! Would like to feel good in a swim suit again . When I look at recent photos find myself asking who the chunky girl is? .....and then say eeeew! its me. This is the biggest I've been since post babies! Just want to be able to feel better in my own skin, stay active and be healthy. Though there's been no sign of it yet diabetes and heart problems run in the family.


My Program:
Charting all my food. Need to be realistic about what's actually being consumed. Try to keep the calorie count at the low end recommended. Move more...everyday! include more strength training. Been doing SP since Jan 2013. Lost 4lbs...but its a tough road. Hope this helps...here I go!

hi carol thanks for reading my blog we may be 50 but we can be the best 50 and we can feel and look younger , I bet a lot of people do not know you are 50 because you have an awesome attitude and a love of life . My daughter doesn't want me to sing or dance either they are such fuddy duddies right lol have an awesome weekend ,

Hi Carol,
I was so glad to read your blog. We made a commitment awhile back, but I was so afraid that I hadn't been holding up my end of the bargain. emoticon Since school has been out for the summer, I too have been more in "enjoyment" mode. I haven't said screw it or anything, but while being careful I've also been enjoying a few indulgences that are part of living and enjoying summer with family and friends. We only go around once right??
I also appreciated your comments about juggling kids and finances and college. I just completed a loan application for my daughter and it makes me nauseous just thinking of what will happen if she graduates and doesn't get a job right away and can't pay back the loan.... its really scary! emoticon Which is all the more reason we have to take time now to appreciate all we have and enjoy our time with our families. I hope your kids are doing well and that your DH is feeling better. I know neither one of us will go crazy and totally over do it. It sounds as though you're getting plenty of exercise! I'm still walking, but it's been a little to warm of late to do that very strenu emoticon ously... even my dog is walking slower these days. I know we will get back on track and will continue this journey, but in the meantime, be happy and enjoy!!
