Well, I grew up skinny, so much so, I was made fun of for being skinny. I filled out to a normal size in high school of 122 lbs at 5'8" I didn't gain my weight till I was about 28. My thyroid went bad. I was too sedentary. With work and the kids we fell into habit of fast food and TV for entertainment. The weight came on fast and kept coming on. And My health went south fast. My Doctor told me that if I did not lose at least 100 lbs and fast that I would die. He wanted me to have gastric bypass surgery but that just seemed so radical. I thought I can just do this on my own. But for several reasons I wasn't really ready to do it. Then 2 yrs ago my health was so bad that I got fired from my job and I went on disability. it was a real eye opener. I joined weight watchers and lost 60 lbs I started feeling better. according to my doctor I still needed to lose weight or I was on my way to the grave. but I thought I could quit weight watchers and be ok however I gained all that weight back and then some. a few months went by and I went for my yearly mammogram which lead to a biopsy and found out I had cancer. What a wake up call. it was stage 2 grade 2 and I had to have a Mastectomy. They had so much trouble keeping me breathing due to my sleep apnea that they said I almost didn't make it. Since then I rejoined weight watchers. I cut out all soda's started truly researching cancer fighting foods and foods that lower cholesterol and doing portion control drinking lots of water or unsweetened tea. My health hasn't allowed me to be as active as I need to be but I do what I can. I under went chemo and radiation treatment and had 2 surgeries. I have to go for physical therapy and I may need another surgery but I finally get it. I deserve better but only I can give it to me. I am not a human garbage disposal. I do not have to eat everything just cause I don't want to waste it. It is better to put it in the waste disposal than to put it on my waist. I am slowly turning this around I have lost 80 lbs. I no longer need diabetic medication or high blood pressure medication. I still have to use oxygen at night but that is my next goal to get off the oxygen. More importantly I do not intend to ever let myself go like that again. This is a new me and a new lifestyle. Even worse case scenario the cancer comes back or spreads or my heart arrhythmia gets worse or whatever I will not give up on myself again. I will continue to research and do whatever it takes to live a full and happy healthy life. I also know that my body is not my own but Gods and He is helping me to cleanse and purify it. Here is a thought for you. Have you ever noted that When Moses lead the people in the desert and they cried out for food God sent food in the morning which had to be gather (exercise) and could not be hoarded for it would spoil and then again in the evening which also had to be gathered and could not be saved or hoarded. Just a thought.
