August 14, 2012
I love this thought: I only have to exercise the muscles I want to keep!
Actually it is a take off from what my dentist used to say about flossing -- he used to say that I only had to floss the teeth I wanted to keep --
I think this applies to my muscles as well . . .

I am looking forward to my vegetable garden, to losing down to 125 and being as healthy as I can!
If you have never been to St Patricks Day Parade -- you are welcome to come to MS -- We do have the 4th largest St Patrick's Day parade in the country!!
And That's no Blarney!
It's been a strange, rainy day -- I haven't gotten much done but my blog of pictures and eating birthday cake.
(I am keeping this Tuesday FAT with the cake)
It is so true -- I am a "cake" head -- God have mercy on me! lol
I am happy that I went walking early - 30 degrees not withstanding.
Now, I just went up to the corner --but the point is -- I did what I like, which is walking 1st thing in the morning, IN THE DAYLIGHT.
I didn't go far -- point is I went - I braved the cold and thanked God the wind wasn't blowing!!!
ONE STEP AT A TIME!!
It is getting lighter earlier each day and staying lighter each night!
One good thing about being laid off come Friday 2/11, is that I will have more time for my exercise and study. And if I can draw unemployment -- that is even better.
Ya'll have a great week!
Working on juggling my studies and my exercise -- not happy with the results so far - Some lbs gained, none lost.
I did this a while back -- may do this again.
The Perfect 10:Reworking Goals 10-10-10 for 5 weeks!
10 Interval Training days (2x a wk Tue & Thu)
10 Strength Training days (2 x a wk: Sun & Wed)
10 Morning and Evening Walks (Any 2 days a wk)
Equals a Perfect 10!!
I had been trying to do daily interval training (which they say not to -- without having daylight -- it was hard to do.
That leaves me afternoons, after work.
I had not been doing ANY strength training with any consistancy -- this will help!
God Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway, the good fortune to run into the ones I do and the eyesight to tell the difference!
I WANT 10LBS GONE BY THANKSGIVING . . .
If I want those pounds gone -- I got to get my INTERVAL TRAINING DONE !! I am also committed to Strength Training which I started Sunday 8/8.
It's back to DAILY FOOD BASICS for me:
3 - Fruits // 3 - 4 Breads/Carbs // 4 - 5 Proteins // 3 - Fats
2 - 3 Milks // 3 - 5 Vegetables // 1 - (30 calorie) Extra
SIMPLE, NUTRITIOUS, FILLING!!
I became determined to focus on my food and my exercise -- that brings me pleasure -- and CONTROL!!
The job is a job -- I am a long term temporary employee -- but that could be 2 weeks -- to 2 months.
I am working on getting my PELL Grant secured for the fall schedule -- I want to continue my schooling!
HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEK!
I gotta get my exercise plan and food plan down.
So here is what I have planned:
--Route to new job goes right by a walking path at a hospital - check!
--Going by there today to check out what food places are available and plan my lunches for the week- check!!!
Wish me luck!!
By the Way: The local Kroger near my house has a Toledo Scale in the entrance where the carts are stored.
For Kicks - I got on it and weighed -- 152!!
I haven't posted that yet -- But I was VERY encouraged -- if the Toledo scale said 152 -- I MUST be 152!!
Kind of funny!
I'm focusing on getting a job:
Filling out Applications, resume sending, questionnaire answering, yada, yada, yada.
Studying ways to tighten the $$$ belt
- No extra, unnecessary trips
- Using a grocery list and sticking to budgeted amount
- More specific menu planning
- Using up the foods that I have got in house
- Finding activities for us to do around the house that are fun!
and I guess I will just have to leave the rest up to God!
Going for an evening walk, riding my stationary bike -- being active.
Was Kinda Bummed. . .
When I registered my weight loss as 153lbs, SP automatically recalculated my weight loss of 2lbs/wk - which made the date change from September 18 to October18 -- ARGHHH!!!
So Now my time line has expanded. Unless I can somehow figure out how to lose more than 2 lbs a week - which I have NOT been very successful at AT ALL -- I am stuck with plodding along.
So, I'm bummed. Feel like I'm moving SLOWER than turtle speed!!
It took me from 6/6 to 7/11 to lose those 3 measly pounds!
I have upped my exercise to 5000+ steps 6 days a week. Added PM exercises/strength training.
Still staying within my limits on my nutrition tracker. Staying below 2300mg of Sodium.
The thought of doing more exercise -- tires me out!!
I'm trying to find a job -- if and when I do -- it will leave me virtually NO TIME - well, very little time -- to devote myself to all my planning, tracking and exercising -- THIS IS A BIG FEAR!!!
GOALS FOR THIS WEEK:
1. Rest Sunday. Walk AM: Mon, Wed, Fri. this week.
2. Curves PM: Mon, Wed, Fri this week.
3. WALKING Interval training ANY 2 DAYS: Tuesday and Saturday.
4. Focus on expending 215 calories in exercise a day.
