I began this journey towards optimum health the first day of 2006, by following the South Beach diet. After losing 27 pounds, I joined Weight Watchers at Work, primarily for the weekly weigh-ins, with no happy intentions of counting points or following their diet. I was surprised to discover that their Core plan was, for all intents and purposes, the SBD, with a bit more flexibility. So I continued to do what I was doing.
Posting on the AOL 100+ message board, I was introduced to Sparkpeople.com, the most serendipitous event of the year! I love this site and utilize its tools every day. Like the weekly work weigh-ins, Sparkpeople keeps me honest and affords me accountability. I'm learning how to be the person I always wanted to be and I still can't believe it's FREE.
Ultimately, to live a long, healthful, productive life of service to others, particularly my loved ones and my God.
Sticking to a reduced calorie, well-balanced eating plan and excercising---especially when I don't feel like it! I also incorporated walking.
I attend weekly Mass and make myself available to my family. I try to maintain my integrity, especially in the workplace and believe in continuing education and spiritual growth.

Just stopped by to say hi. I noticed you commented on my page back at the end of the year in 2008. I just restarted a few days ago and noticed today that you had commented. Life is good with family. But my health has slid. I'm gained back about 40 of the weight that I had lost. I was still down about 15 from my original high weight, but I'm a little bummed still. I'm starting back with baby steps. This week I'm concentrating on just getting at least three meals in a day no matter what they be. And trying to increase the fruit and veggie intake.
I also need to get back in the habit of my Multi-Vitamin in the AM and regular water intake. Then somewhere down the road I need to tackle the EXERCISE UGH! But I'm having a lot of back and lower abdomen pain right now, so I think I need to get into the water. I'm going to look into the community indoor pool in the next couple of weeks.
Miss all the old AOL pals, but its not the same over there as it was and AOL really annoys me anyway.
