The journey continues........

I first joined SparkPeople in Jan 2010, but didn't really take any action toward my goals. Since then I have low carbed it here and there and have managed to lose 22lbs. A few scares lately such as heart palpitations and higher than usual blood pressure have motivated me to become more serious about my goals and improving the state of my health.

My Goals:
Embrace movement, not avoid it.

Do some exercise everyday, even if only 10 minutes.

Eat more vegetables.

Drink more water.







My Program:
I have mostly eliminated anything containing flour and added sugar or high fructose corn syrup, and other white foods like rice and potatoes.

Trying to incorporate a lot more non-starchy vegetables.

High quality protein at each meal.

I find avoiding refined carbs and eating lots of vegies and protein keeps my blood sugar stable all day.

Thanks for the kind words on my page! I too joined Spark way back in 2009, but only became part of the community since May of 2012.

What a difference it has made! I've entered "one-derland" recently and plan to stay there forever!One thing I would suggest is: Keep collecting Spark Friends like candy!! It is calorie free and they always give you something to "chew on"!!

You can just "friend" them...no need to ask. We are friendly and don't bite!

You can find motivation and inspiration from everyone here, even those that are struggling (because you know how they feel!!) Welcome new people, Join teams, blog, join challenges, blog, be excited, blog. And did I mention: blog? The future fabulous you will want to look back at your journey and will want to encourage others!! When the excitement wanes (it WILL!!) put down your pom poms and lurk in the background, (but don't leave and don't do too much damage) and wait for the tide to turn...pick up your oars and keep rowing.

You can do this!!
