The final straw....

Hi! My name is Carly and my road to weight gain has been filled with potholes. eight ankle reconstructions, two knee reconstructions, two hip reconstructions, and the biggest one-college- have all contributed to the bigger "me". The only problem is that I don't feel like me, I feel frustrated every day when my pants feel tight, I feel stressed to go shopping (well, sometimes), and I don't like not being able to play the sports I want to any more.

The only problem is that I don't feel like me, I feel frustrated every day when my pants feel tight, I feel stressed to go shopping (well, sometimes), and I don't like not being able to play the sports I want to any more.

So help motivate me to do the right thing and quit giving into every little naughty voice in my head! (Well, the food related ones) =)


01.04.2012 Update: Since I wrote that ^^ I have had yet more unfortunate things dumped on me. My wedding was called off, I had to have brain surgery to have a mass removed, two follow up skull surgeries, and another ankle surgery. Regardless, I need to take this all in stride and make progress toward becoming a better me. On the other hand, I finally landed a REAL "grown up" job, which has given me the health insurance I need AND as an added bonus I can get a discount on my monthly gym membership (incentive to get my butt in there often!!). I am feeling happy with most parts of my life, but I am still incredibly stressed and angry that my body looks the way it does. Fitting back into my wardrobe would be a huge bonus both financially (although I AM refusing to buy any more pants until my fat-ass can fit into a better size!) and stylistically =)

Anyhow, wish me luck or bet against me, either way it'll motivate me to become the best "me" I can!!

10.08.2012 Update: Left my job (personal reasons), but have since been working at Target (corporate, downtown Mpls) which is a company I have wanted to work for since I was a little girl. I have a FANTASTIC guy in my life, whom I love more than anything, and although I had another ankle surgery this summer (and another one planned in the next few months), I have been inspired by one of my closest childhood friends to start eating CLEAN- so far I haven't been able to go 100% for a full day, but I have only been at it for 4 days, and for the most part I have been following the rules =) This time I have the motivation and the encouragement to do what I know I need to do. I just wish I could exercise more than I am can!!

My Goals:
Reasons I would like to get down to ~135 lbs again:
*look better naked and in a swimsuit
*be more confident
*not worry about my shirt riding up and showing a bit of skin
*get ready for my wedding (JUNE 18, 2011!)
*to be in great shape before having a baby
*run in a 5K or 10K
*to feel SEXY again!

My Program:
I am trying to religiously use the Spark App on my iPhone to document all of my foods and exercise. I like when it gives me the "WOO HOO" for surpassing my workout for the day =)

I am still healing from a knee reconstruction so I am only able to walk and bike with no resistance. Keeping my heart rate in zones one and two allows for the most fat burning anyway, so it's actually working really well! And throw on an episode of House and I am completely in the zone for 45 min.

Other Information:
I am a sports and hobby nerd. I love playing sports- soccer, football, volley ball, bocce ball...I am competitive BEYOND belief (and tend to get into trouble with my bf often for it!)

I also love to scrapbook, sew, knit, read, design and ORGANIZE.
