Making Healthy Habits!

This has been a long and challenging journey. I'm still hanging in at 195lbs. I've been maintaining for over a year now, but I still notice things that tell me that I could be healthier. I've set myself a goal to get to 170lbs by May 2015. I'm doing well with my eating, but I've always had a little trouble getting in the exercise I should. I have a streak started now and I want to keep up these healthy habits!

My goal is to reach 155-160lbs. When you take into account the fact that I started this journey at 265lbs, that's quite a ways to go. I'm proud of how far I've come and I'm not going to give up the battle.

I AM a healthier and happier person than I was before I started this journey. I can keep up with my kids better than I could. I can do things I never would have tried(like running) if it weren't for SparkPeople. My plan is to keep living healthy!!

I've been on SparkPeople since late 2010 and my life has changed! I haven't reached my goal weight yet but I am a healthier and happier person!!

Today I'm restarting my program, resetting my goals and buckling down to take of the rest of my unwanted weight! I WILL DO THIS!!

Hey SparkFriends!!

I'm excited to say that, after a year and some of being on Spark, I've almost reached ONEderland!! I've weighed in this week at 207lbs(almost 60lbs lost!)!!

My husband has become a great motivator and support to me! He's noticed a great change in me and has decided to start listening to his body, making food changes and eating less!

SparkPeople has changed my life! I'm more energetic, more confident and happier with myself everyday!

Hi there!

I started this journey in late 2010 at 265lbs. I couldn't stand the thought of having to find a new store that carried bigger sizes and so I told myself it was time for a different kind of change - a change in direction.

In high school I'd been diagnosed with Epilepsy and since then my weight had consistently gone up. At the beginning of 2010 I spent a week in the hospital with a new Neurologist trying to set my medications straight. He did a great job because since then my Epilepsy has been under great control. With this exciting change, I figured I didn't have any more excuses, nothing left to hold me back.

My first step on this journey was asking my Grandma for all of her old Weight Watchers information. I figured points would be easier that calories(not true!) and it was a good starting point. Then a friend introduced me to SparkPeople.com and I was instantly hooked! An easy was to count calories and track my food as well as lots of information to guide me along!

The amount of information available astounded and delighted me! I have two kids and a not-so-healthy husband, so it's been great to find ways to include them in my journey.

My weight loss didn't really get under way until January 2011. Starting right before the Christmas season didn't really help me! By my daughter's birthday in May, I had lost 35lbs!! Through the summer I hit a plateau but kept the weight off and in August 2011 I dropped down to 225lbs.

Keep watching my page! I plan on pushing forward to make a healthier me and I will be posting here as often as I can to keep you all updated!!
