Following Through

I recently turned 25 and am hoping to finally get healthier after a couple years of steady decline upon graduating college! I've met all my goals for my early 20s except staying in great shape and I'm really ready to make it happen.

I fell off the wagon in September and October 2007 but am getting back on track! I started working with a personal trainer in November and have found the energy to get up and exercise before work, so I'm transitioning from a nearly completely sedentary ...

My Program:
EXERCISE
Mondays - am cardio 30 min; pm resistance training 30 min, cardio 45 min.
Tuesdays - am cardio 30 min; pm cardio or personal training 60m
Wednesdays - am cardio 30 min; pm resistance training 30 min, cardio 30 min
Thursdays - am cardio 30 min; pm cardio 30 min, pilates 60 min.
Fridays - am cardio 30 min; pm resistance training 30 min, cardio 45 min.
Saturdays - am cardio 60 min or something active with Adam
Sundays - off

NUTRITION
-Full breakfast every day
-Watch sodium intake
-Fruits and/or veggies at every meal and as snacks
-No white bread, pasta, rice, potatoes
-No red meat
-Limit sweets to small portions, dark chocolate only
-Consume processed foods and artificial sweeteners sparingly
-Limit fast food to once per month or less

Personal Information:
I'm Carissa. I live in Florida, with my fiance and our pets Henry and Olive. I really want to lean out and be super healthy - with marriage and babies on the horizon I'm terrified of "letting myself go." I hope to be the exception to my family's cancer/diabetes/heart disease rule.



Other Information:
I love traveling, books, movies, wine, cooking, politics - I'm a news junkie.

Music: I'm really into Francoise Hardy and Camera Obscura right now, still obsessed with The Weepies and Ray LaMontagne, and can't stop singing along with my soundtrack to Hairspray!

I just got engaged!! He proposed 09-08-2007!

Hey thanks for adding me! Congratulations on the engagement and I think you are smart for wanting to get married before school, I'm trying to plan our wedding for this summer and its going to be tough with school and all. If you ever want to know anything about FSU law let me know, its a wonderful program, and I can still say that today after I took my first final yesterday :) Good luck with everything!

Hey chica! Thanks for the page post! :) Welcome to St. Pete :) We were thinking about living over in that area of town, but we couldn't deal with the traffic going into Tampa :) We are building a house down in the Riverview/Sun City Center area now :)

Thanks again for the vibes! I am so so so happy - finally - to see some results. I have been working SO hard. :)

I've had a busy two weeks! Labor Day weekend was nice and relaxing...beautiful weather! And although I was in the land of cheese...I ended up eating pretty healthy. I didn't "exercise" but we did a LOT of walking. So that helped out!
This weekend we went camping. (although i am not a huge camper myself...but for 36 hours...I can hang in there...) I also won tickets to the Iowa/Syracuse football game. Right on the 50 yard line...40th row...not too shabby. So I left camping for a few hours in the evening to go to the game! I actually lost weight this week! Woo!
I think I am going to try to do morning workouts...but that's going to take mega motivation!! October 1st my hours change at work and I'll go in later...so maybe if I can still get up at the same time as I am now...I can pull off my morning work out goal.
When do you work out? Sometimes I wish I was unemployed so I could do my workout mid-morning. Ah well...gotta pay the bills right?
