I am 40 years old and for the last 10 or so years I had been overweight.
I would love to blame that on three pregnancies in three years, but in all truth I was steadily gaining weight years before my first pregnancy.
I have lost the same 20+ kilo at least three times with fad diets, only to gain it back when I would start eating "normally" again, but no more!

Since September 2013 I have been committed to changing my life style and exercising 3-5 times a week and eating healthy within my calorie range. Except for the weekends, when I might eat a bit more.

I love to eat!
I eat when I am happy and when I am sad or angry.
But I have come to realize that I also love to feel fit and healthy!
I really feel this time I can keep the weight off.
I have lost around 23 kilo since April 2013 (6 of which before I joined SP) but gained another 6 in the last few months.
I have a healthy BMI (more or less), but am finding it difficult to start maintaining and not have a goal.

So I just signed up for a marathon on 19 October, which will give me a good reason to lose these 6 kilo again and get even fitter than I currently am.

- Running 2-3 times a week, 5-15 km each time.
- Hot yoga 1-2 times a week

Thanks for your recent post to Indy Girl's blog on the Crabs in the Bucket (Beware the Crabs!).

Your post in conjunction with a post by Brooklyn_Born really resonated with me.

What spoke to me were the comments pertaining to skinny shaming and women often being the worst critics.

My fitness buddy and I have been receiving skinny shaming comments from other women. We both continue our healthy habits and support of one another.

Thanks again for sharing your experience and perspective.
