My story
Well over 10 years ago, I decided I needed to loose weight because I wanted to feel better about myself. Of course, I wanted to look better too. I lost 45 pounds. It took me about 6 months. I didn't follow a plan. I just kind-of did my own thing. I started eating healthier, drank water (back then, I couldn't even finish a small bottle a day...now I can't live without my water), and cut down my portions. I already drank Diet sodas but stopped the soda and sweets. One week later, I joined ...
Well over 10 years ago, I decided I needed to loose weight because I wanted to feel better about myself. Of course, I wanted to look better too. I lost 45 pounds. It took me about 6 months. I didn't follow a plan. I just kind-of did my own thing. I started eating healthier, drank water (back then, I couldn't even finish a small bottle a day...now I can't live without my water), and cut down my portions. I already drank Diet sodas but stopped the soda and sweets. One week later, I joined a gym. I had a friend that did the same. We made days to workout. (It is so much easier if you have someone who is trying to loose weight with you) We split the cost of a trainer and had a few sessions to teach us how to use the equipment and what exercises to do. Here I am now. I have kept off the weight all these years. I can't say "all" of it but most of it. I have gained five pounds off and on...those dreaded five pounds. I told myself I wouldn't go over "a certain weight". All these years, I have tried to keep it under that number. My normal exercise routine is to either walk on the treadmill (I vary it by changing the speeds and incline), run and do DVD workouts at home. It all started in January 2010 with the 30 Day Shred and then BFBM and NMTZ. I don't know why all these years I was so against workout videos....now, I find myself previewing more and more of them, hoping to find another perfect one! I started Turbo Jam Sept 2010 and did that for three months and I was hooked. I love Chalene Johnson. She is so motivating and positive and her workouts are so fun! LOVE the music too. She truely does make working out FUN! I wish I had found her sooner. I started Turbo Fire in January. I love Turbo Fire more than Turbo Jam. Next, I got ChaLean Extreme. (Currently doing CLX) I definitely see a change in my body since I started with Turbo Jam. I feel stronger and more confident. I feel better about myself. I enjoy working out. I never thought I would find a workout I love! It isn't easy to loose weight...I started off with just walking...just walking takes off pounds along with eating right. I love this site! There is so much information here that wasn't here 14 years ago when I lost weight. So many people here to motivate me to push harder and so much support! I hope I can help others with their weightloss and fitness goals. :)
