Sounds like you are well on your way to creating a healthy world for you and your family! Sorry to hear about the hypothyroid diagnosis, but glad that you are finally treating it.

I'm not sure what your TSH was when you started out, but from your dosage of 50mcgs, I'm thinking that it must have been between 5 -10. My TSH was an 8.74.I did 62.5 of Synth for a coupla years with no problems, but as I got deeper into perimenopause I needed the T3(Cytomel) which I started in October.

The 25mcg of Cytomel was too much for me, even though my Synthroid dose was cut back to half, to accommodate the T3 (Cytomel).

Now I take a quarter of a 25mcg Cytomel which seems to be working ... my freezing cold body and fat tongue are no more... and I can get thru my step class without feeling like I'm about to pass out cuz my heart is beating so fast!
