Going to do it this time!

I am turning 55 this year and I really need to lose the weight once and for all! My husband and I have been married for 32 year, have 2 wonderful adult children who are both married and our daughter has blessed us with 2 beautiful granddaughters. I want to be able to enjoy my granddaughters and hopefully someday be able to enjoy retirement!!!! I have always exercised and love being outdoors, but obviously over eating and portion control is my problem - how else could I maintain my weight??? ...

And now with being on the brink of menopause that brings a bunch of other issues. I really need to lose this weight now.

My Goals:
I want to be fit and healthy as I enter this stage of my life so eventually (someday) we can enjoy a fun retirement not plagued with illness.

My Program:
PORTION CONTROL!!!!

I know all the "rules" of diet and exercise. My diet is also restricted by allergies. So portion control and my love of chocolate are my vices.

Personal Information:
I was born and raised in South Dakota but have called Colorado home for 39 years. My husband and I have 2 grown, married children and 2 beautiful granddaughters. We love spending time with our family. We also enjoy ATVs and geocaching.

"Three of the most powerful words in the English language are 'I AM RESPONSIBLE.' It's tough to do, but when the day comes that you can say those words, believe them, and mean them, it will be the most liberating moment of your life. Taking responsibility for all of your results, for better or for worse, is taking back your power to create results in your life."
-Tom Venuto

"Just because we are knocked down does not mean that we are out.
We still have breath in our lungs and tears flowing down - all signs that we are alive!
Take a deep breath and be reminded that often our biggest struggles are stepping stones to our greatest victories."
-Rae Smith
