Letting go of Muffin Top and hanging onto Muscle!!

I have been on and off this site for about 4 years now.
The first year I needed to learn about calories and nutrition and how eating should be. Though I learned alot I couldn't lose more than 10-15lbs and then I would regain all the weight with a couple more lbs for good measure.

The first year I needed to learn about calories and nutrition and how eating should be. Though I learned alot I couldn't lose more than 10-15lbs and then I would regain all the weight with a couple more lbs for good measure.

After struggling for a couple years trying and quitting and trying and quitting. . . I realized there was more to my journey than calorie and calorie out. Once I decided to open the closet and release the demons there holding me back--- Success flowed in!

Tiny changes began to matter! Less junk food. Healthier breakfast. No emotional Eating. No stuffing myself. One day I looked up and I realized that those simple changes in my attitude and in my nutrition had suddenly added up to losing 40lbs over 23 weeks.

It is not record breaking. It isn't the Biggest Loser. It isn't even the standard 2lbs a week people hope for. But it is real. And it is GONE!

I think trying to get someone to lose weight is like trying to convince them to get out of an abusive relationship. They know its horrible but it still feels good sometimes, that is until you step back and take a look at yourself from an outsider's perspective. My sister is back to taking those head and shoulder pics because she no longer feels comfortable with herself. I know I can't change it but because I have lost weight and gained it back and know how horribly humbling that is, I want to save her from that pain. In the end, I just need to focus on hittin my goal and hopefully inspire her along the way.
Thanks for the advice.

OMG you are so right! The only good thing about those cheap pedometers is that you don't feel the need to try to retrieve them from the commode!!! UGH not that I would do that!! LOL

I felt like I was never really affected by the T.O.M fluctuations, but I swear I feel pregnant, bloated as heck, eating clean though, so I know my nutrition is not the problem. Guess Insanity is affecting all aspects of my life. Thanks for the love on my blog.
