I was wondering about the "blade", I was kinda slow on the uptake. It makes an inexpensive meal.

When I get them, the cartilage and skin has all been removed, just skate meat. It tastes a bit like scallops.

No matter how long it's baked, boiled or fried I'm still afraid I'll cut the roof of my mouth or tongue on the blade. Maybe I'll remove the blades and gnaw on strip skates.

I already released the feathers to the wind. Just picked 'em up to take a picture for a day I didn't have a pic selected for my blog from the day before. Yesterday happened to be the day. Although I have posted blogs w/o pics I like it better to include something.

Those Silkie Chickens are so soft like a kitten. They do have some wing feathers but mostly they are fur.

I've been thinking about making homemade beans again. Maybe Thursday or Friday. I like to soak the beans overnight first. I picked up a smaller piece of salt pork so the beans won't be as salty as the last batch I made.

We try not to waste here either especially if it's chicken or turkey we've raised. I use every bit. If we don't eat it the canines will. The bones get boiled for stock. Every now and then something gets pushed to the back of the refrigerator and we forget about it or a piece of fruit ripens to quickly and goes bad. I get sad to have to toss it away. I sometime salvage some to give to the chickens.

emoticon on the 3 lb loss. That's great! Guess those meatballs didn't stick so hard to your ribs, LOL.

Looks like the sun is trying to pop out. Might be a nice day after all.
