Now I sit me down to eat,

Sept 2013, when I went in for my 6 month check-up, I got a wake up call. My blood sugar was "a little high," my dr said. Since diabetes runs in my family (both my mom & oldest sister had type 2 diabetes), this news shook me up! My dear sister passed away 3 yrs ago from complications to diabetes. I am taking this serious and working on a few helps I've found. Now I have a meter and am trying to lower my blood sugar levels by testing myself and eating healthier, low-carb meals.

emoticon I tried to send you a spark mail letting you know which team you will be on for the January BSG challenge for the Aspire to Inspire Team, but it said you were not found so I am not sure if you don't have the mail set up or what the problem is. Anyway, the chat rooms are posted and the challenge begins officially Saturday although you get points for chatting early. Let me know if you have any problems accessing it. Hugs

Hi Ruth-Ann, sorry it took me a while to get back to you. The Fast Metabolism Diet is low carb to a certain degree. Here is a website that gives you some information about the diet/way of eating http://www.chewfo.com/diets/the-fast-metab

to-eat-and-foods-to-avoid-food-list/. I know many people that have diabetes and are doing it successfully. Many people who do have diabetes end up lowering their blood sugar quite a bit. It's done wonders for me as you can see! You can get the book from Amazon.com. I would recommend this way of eating to anyone who does low carb eating.
