Now how many of you remember this one???

Daisy Daisy,
Give me your answer do!
I'm half crazy,
All for the love of you!
It won't be a stylish marriage,
I can't afford a carriage,
But you'll look sweet on the seat
Of a bicycle built for two!

Since joining the Determined Daisies, I thought this was appropriate as we're heading into the fall!

Now I sit me down to eat,
I pray the Lord I will not cheat.
If I should reach for cake or bread
please guide my hand to greens instead!
But help me Lord, if I indulge
and lose the Battle of the Bulge,
to understand that ounce for ounce,
It's Who I Am That Really Counts!

I'm excited for the 2017 Summer 5% Challenge I just joined. I'm a Determined Daisy this time and I'm excited! It starts July 1st and runs through Aug 26th. 8 weeks of challenges, motivation, support, fun...can't wait!!!

I'm a yo-yo dieter who's on the road to break that awful habit! No more diets for me, just a life-change that will start slow at first, taking one goal at a time until I have that as a life habit. Then I'll move on to the next goal and so on! I can overcome and will overcome!

Sept 2013, when I went in for my 6 month check-up, I got a wake up call. My blood sugar was "a little high," my dr said. Since diabetes runs in my family (both my mom & oldest sister had type 2 diabetes), this news shook me up! My dear sister passed away 3 yrs ago from complications to diabetes. I am taking this serious and working on a few helps I've found. Now I have a meter and am trying to lower my blood sugar levels by testing myself and eating healthier, low-carb meals.

Hi Ruth-Ann - I am glad you enjoyed the Daisy team and that you have signed up for the fall challenge too. I really enjoy them as they help keep me focussed and on track; even when I may not do all that great, it is still better than I would do on my own.

I had a good visit and time with my niece and her youngest two (boys - age 9 & 11), We played lots of games and shared lots of laughter. You and I are alike in that we love to have our family around us.

I am counting down the days till my vacation. I am so looking forward to having a time away, although I do have a tendency to fret about my mom when I am away. I need to just place her in the Lord's hands and let go of my worry. I have started to make my packing list, but in truth I started it at the end of June when I made the final arrangements and paid for the trip. My sisters both make fun of my lists, but it helps me keep organized. And unlike them, I seldom go away having forgotten anything.

Hope you are having a wonderful week. Blessings and Hugs. Jineane

Thanks for your comment on my averages blog! It really does make a difference what you eat over time, and not just in a single meal!!
