To tell you the truth, I love to eat! I am a Filipino-American brought up by my very traditional parents who will cook the most fatty, oily, Filipino foods you can think of! I was raised to just eat, eat, eat and eat. To never have leftover food on my plate and clean it up spotless. With that said, and especially since I am on my own now, I can't do that anymore! With the way my body is changing and how I am growing, I need to change my lifestyle! It is hard, but I need to do something to stay healthy, even if that means exercise! (Bleh!) That is why I am on here. I am here to learn new ways to be healthy and exercise. I would love to have your support and give mine in return. So... let the weight changing and healthiness begin! :D

**Update 8/07/08**
I was sick and tired of working out all the time and not seeing any results. Calculating my BMR is probably one of the best things I have done to lose weight. I now understand the amount of calories I need to consume and burn in order to maintain my current weight or lose a couple pounds.

MY BMR IS 1355.
Every 3,500 calories is equivalent to one pound.
If I cut back 500 calories a day, I should lose about one pound per week.
If I exercise to burn off 500 calories a day I should lose approximately one pound per week.
Ideally, I should do a combination of both, (such as cut back 250 calories; burn an extra 250 calories).

The least amount of calories to consume is 855!
The most amount of calories is 1355!
The amount of calories to consume while cutting back is 1105, while burning at least 250!



*Cardio in the AM.

*30 Day Shred in the PM.

*No Rice for Dinner.

*Stretch at every hour.

*Drink a cup of water at every hour.

*Always "Exercise in the Office" during my Lunch Break.

*At 4pm, take a brisk walk around the building.

*Do at least 30 minutes of cardio everyday.


1. Stretch. Do stretching exercises for five minutes before beginning your workout by lying on the floor or standing. You may bring a stretchable band to help you do your flexibility exercises. While sitting on your chair, try as much to maintain good posture, and stretch your legs every once in a while.

2. Weights. You don't have to bring in a workout bench or an abdominal board in your office to exercise your muscles. You can bring in a couple of dumbbells with two extra plates for progressive resistance. Do bicep curls, shoulder presses, and squats for three sets of ten to twelve repetitions each. If you can't bring weights, try lifting heavy books, instead.

3. Floor. Do some floor exercises, like crunches and pushups for another three sets of twenty each. Pushups are very effective in working out your triceps, biceps, chest and shoulders, while crunches keep your abs hard and trim.

4. Bars. Look for a sturdy bar by the stairwell or over the doorjamb to do some pull-ups to build your back. If you can, also do hanging leg raises for your abs. Do three sets of ten for each.
