Old habits are so hard to break...tackling them just one day at a time...

One bite at a time, one step at a time, one day at a time...

I stress eat. I mindlessly eat. Each day I make a decision to do neither...to journal or lose myself in sudoku if I'm stressed, to eat without distractions.

I had been doing really good at getting up and exercising before work. Kept it up for 6 months, now I'm battling inertia to get moving again in the mornings. I'm grateful that I've at least been able to maintain my weight within a 5 pound range...

My Goals:
1. integrate a regular exercise schedule into my week.
2. Cut out sugar and artificial sweeteners, processed foods, and if I'm going to eat meat it can only be organic.
3. Identify at least 3 alternatives to stress eating and start using them.
4. Learn how to do weekly meal planning.

My Program:
Food--track what I eat; cut out sweets and sodas; more fresh fruits and vegetables, foods with few additives/little processing, drink at least 2 liters of water a day.

Exercise--aiming for at least 15 min in on the treadmill before I go to work. Must get backside moving again!

Wellness-- 7-8 hours of sleep, time each day for spiritual practice, and returning balance to my life.

Personal Information:
I grew up in Georgia, moved out to Seattle for 18 years, and am now back in Georgia. I've got three psychokitties that are always helping me with something. I'm working on a home garden, slowly expanding each season.

I will ALWAYS be a Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket!

Other Information:
I love reading anything having to do with the mind-body-spiritual connection. I loved the movie "What the Bleep do We Know" My two other favorite movies are "Kundun" and "Volcano"
