Hello, everyone! I'm Elizabeth. I'm a married 30-something with four children. I am an ICU nurse at McKay Dee Hospital and an aspiring writer. I've struggled with a poor body image my entire life, even when I was a size four, and continue to be an emotional and guilty eater. I joined SparkPeople years ago, and it truly helps me get healthy and feel great when I am consistent at logging my food, activity, and reading the motivational stories. SparkPeople is an inspiring and supportive community when I am an active participant. Am I always an active participant? Nope. I'm human. Very.
Today, January 28, 2013, is my 36th birthday, and I have made a commitment to myself this year. I am going to get healthy for life, and I am going to get one of my stories published. Two very dreamy, but attainable goals. Here's to a great and exciting year!
My goals are all about consistency:
NO BINGING, EVER!!!
Exercise four days a week and log my food EVERYDAY!
Write four days a week. Work on getting an agent one day a week.
Be a patient, happy mom and wife every day. Hug every member of my family at least once a day.
Complete the January Jumpstart Challenge eight times this year, adding reps to the toning sections as needed.
One time down, seven to go!
I live in Hooper, Utah. I am an RN in the ICU at McKay Dee Hospital. I am married, have four children. I grew up in Texas but have been here 15 years and love it.
I love to camp, hike, travel, crochet, read, sing, listen to music, hang out with my family.

Truthfully, I have a short attention span, so I do a lot of different activities. My favorites are Taebo, yoga, stationary biking, and hiking. And oddly, I love to play Just Dance on the Xbox with my kids. It's a riot and a pretty good workout.

That is unfortunate about your knees. What kind of activiti es do you like to do?

Aurora: I actually used to run quite a bit, but my knees are not the best anymore, so now I try to stick to lower impact activities. I loved running, though, and miss it a lot.
