I am a 37 year old female in northern California. My goals are to get healthy, eat healthy, be active and exercise.

My weight in the past 10 years has been up~down~up and now heading back down. I am conquering the emotional eating problems of my past (ended a difficult relationship in February and have not EE since it ended! Huge Progress.)

I recently got back into the healthy eating and exercise/working out lifestyle and feel better than I have in years.

I know it is a journey and there will be progress, plateaus and set backs and as long as my spirit is strong, my thoughts are positive, I keep working hard, ask for help when needed, pay attention to the feelings and eating, stay on the nutrition plan, learn from my past mistakes and avoid sugar I will be successful in this journey.

I will remember that food is for nutrition, and a strong and healthy body. An occassional treat out with friends is ok but not a daily ritual!

For physical activity:
I take physical education classes (cardio and strength training) at a local community college 4 days a week, Zumba two evenings a week after college classes (and sometimes Friday mornings before work), and on Sundays I do pilates-yoga (Piyo) class and Zumba class at a private studio. I hope to incorporate more Piyo this summer to increase flexibility and core strength as well as keep up the cardio and strength training.)

Goals:
Hold a plank for 3+ minutes (3/14 1min 30 sec)
Walk a mile in 14 minutes (2/28 21 minutes)
Climb Coit Tower hike (planned April 2012)
Run a 5k (thanks awesome running instructor Jeff!)
Do pull up (zero now)
Do full push ups (5 right now goal 20)

I look for the NSV as much as the scale moving down. I love being able to "shop in my closet" as I get fitter and more toned. I just had that experience yesterday!

My Program:
Eat healthy three meals a day and a snack around 1600 calories a day.

Eat fruit and veggies daily.

Limit sugar to almost nothing.

Exercise/walk 4-6 days a week.

Keeping a healthy mental attitude.
