At the age of 12 I weighed 215 lbs. I lost 85 lbs and started high school wearing a size 2 or 4. I was active playing tennis and soccer, but once I started college all my activity stopped and I quickly began eating poorly in the dorms. Instead of the "freshman 15" I got the freshman 45! I was active playing tennis and soccer, but once I started college all my activity stopped and I quickly began eating poorly in the dorms. Instead of the "freshman 15" I got the freshman 45! Then the sophomore 20 and junior 10. Before I knew it I was verging on 200 lbs again. I decided to drop the weight with South Beach, and I got to a low of around 160. I hit a plateau and got so discouraged my weight bounded back up to about 180. In 2010 I started the Jillian Michaels program and lost 23 lbs but gained back 16 while finishing my master's. In 2011 I joined SparkPeople doing low-carb South Beach-style, then transitioned into Paleo, which has been my best decision by far!
