Cakerat's Challenge

Hi there! I am overweight. In high school, I was bulimic and at a normal size. In college, I was 5'5" and weighed 128. I worked out 2-3 hours a day; there was lots of time for it and the gym was free and close. Not the case now.

I am also a vegetarian, and that lifestyle has contributed to my weight gain; I cut out most proteins and started eating more processed foods (pasta, grains, etc). This seems to have been a bad move, but I want to continue to be a vegetarian.

I am recently married and attempting to lose weight before we start trying to have a baby. I was told by my doctor that I am at an advanced age (will be 37 in March 2013) and need to be in the healthiest place possible before trying.

I have been on WW, which worked a little but it brought back thoughts of Bulimia again. My therapist told me to stop doing WW because of that. I have also counted calories and worked out, as ways to lose weight. The counting of foods works a little, but I am always hungry and always craving stuff. And working out alone is not going to cut it. I am now trying out a Keto lifestyle (high fat/protein, low carbs). We will see how it goes!

Stay tuned...

Hi, another Keto vegetarian here, hope to hear some great ideas from you and cheer you on, too. I lost over 30 pounds as a low-fat veg and then could just not.go.on. Blech. Blah. Keto adapting has been an amazing change!

I noticed you posted on my blog recently. I see that you are doing Keto as well I am wondering how you like it so far? Is it hard to do Keto and be a vegetarian?

Good luck with your journey.
