My 9+ miles was pretty great, actually. I'm overseas right now - away from training group, but lots of exciting new places to run through and see. It's a great way to explore a city! I do think I need to work on a lower-fiber diet prior to long runs -- last night I was at a picnic with lots of healthy, delicious salads, but it did NOT agree with my intestines in the last stretch home.
It's really great that your 10 year old son can bike alongside you. That's totally way better than any training group!

Hi, right back at you! Congratulations on the marathon decision! That's so great! Which training program are you following? I joined a local running group organized by USA Fit, which has the benefit of making me more accountable for my completing runs and also gives company and support (in form of water and aid stations) on the long runs. I'm still sometimes a bit daunted by the fact that I'm actually doing this, but I am having a blast with the training so far, and I'm sure by November 26 miles will seem doable!
