Hello.... I'm Jeanie!
Just a little bit about me..I am a single mother of two great college kids living in WI. Since I have entered my 50's now, I am realizing how much I really do need to get my health on track and finally lose the weight that I had lost when I turned 40!!

I tend to be an emotional eater. Shortly after my 40th birthday my mom passed away and my marriage was heading toward divorce. I ate my pain away and gained back all I had lost previously and " then some"!

Today I am on a new mission and look forward to getting healthy again!

Lose 10% by October 15th. (~17#)
(so far down about 13# since March 2011)
**update 02-28-12** I probably did obtain that goal, but short time later I lost my spark and have managed to gain ~10# back

Be at 130 as of Feb 14, 2012. ****update 02-28-12*** Ummm... Yeah... didn't happen :( But will keep trying!

Be off my high cholesterol med and diabetes (type 2) med by May 2012 ***update 02-28-12 ... still have time for this goal!

Exercise daily no less than 10 minutes **02-28-12 back on track and out to break my old streak

Participate in 2 virtual 5Ks this fall through Spark People
**08-18-11 walked my first virtual 5K in 51.23 a starting point now for more!
**02-12-2012 I did do a few virtual 5K's -- walking

Participate by running a local 5K in Sum

My Program:
Right now I am trying to make better choices in what I eat and do the one thing I never liked doing..... LOG IN EVERYTHING that I eat! When I do, I see that it works!! :)
I am amazed that I am weighing, measuring and logging in everything I eat these days.
My exercise program is mainly walking. Walking and pushing myself to run too. If the weather is nice I like to head outside and otherwise on my treadmill. I also am working with weight for upper body and using my wii for other exercising too.

    Thank you for commenting on my blog about when my hip/low-back popped. I haven't ever tried a foam roller, but I should probably look up some info on it. A different SparkFriend mentioned using a pool noodle as a substitute foam roller and we do have some of those. I hope things are going well for you!

    Thank you for checking in on me! I haven't been doing so well with my running, but hopefully will be again soon. My first group run is in two weeks (eek!) and I need to get myself ready!
