That's what I'd like to be! My name is Karen, I'm married (for 28+yrs.), have one son (the joy of my life), and I'm a Registered Nurse. I spend A LOT of time mentoring, and volunteering, being the sole provider in our family, and staying active in my son's life and activities. I've been overweight since pregnancy (over 17 yrs. ago), and I'm ready to change that, starting today.
To be healthy and fit.
To see my son grow up & have a family of his own.
To be able to wear a bathing suit confidently.
To be able to wear a pair of jeans with my shirt tucked in, and a big buckled belt.
To buy clothes from racks other than the BIG women's rack.
Planning for my meals and snacks will be key for me. I absolutley LOVE fruits & veggies, and all the good for you stuff, but don't ever take the time to plan it out.
I work long hours, so I'll have to incorporate smaller chunks of time for exercise frequently: I'll take a few extra laps around the parking lot after work, and use my bowflex and exercise bike at home 4-5x/wk for 30 minutes minimum. When I'm not working, I'll spend my walking time down the miles and miles of country roads, working up to ultimately being able to jog around.
I live in Ohio, way out in the country. I grow a HUGE garden every year and can my fruits & vegetables, make salsa and my own spaghetti and chili sauces. I have a herb garden, and I dry and store my own herbs. I have a pond for all the fresh fish I want. I like to raise chickens for meat and eggs. I like to craft: I tool leather, wood working, painting, beading, and calligraphy. I also grow a lot of flowers and greenery that I use for crafts and decorating.
My favorite books are the Chronicles of Narnia.
I don't really watch movies, but I WILL watch every season of "The Biggest Loser".
