Mom of 2 boys (plus one stepson). Finished up a Bachelor's in December 2010 and started Graduate classes in January 2011 (and obtained my Master's in July 2012). Completed my first 5K August 2013. Found out I have PCOD and insulin resistance and had to adjust to high-fiber, low-carb/sugar/dairy diet which i HATE, but will hopefully prevent full-fledged diabetes. Not sure what comes next. Happy 2014.

My Goals:
1. Get to a healthy weight.

2. Run a 10K in September.

3. Learn to like exercise.

My Program:
1. Decreasing intake.

2. Walk for at least 15 minutes every day.

3. Build up to running for 30 minutes every or every other day.

4. Continue to build up to being able to run for 2 hours straight (with brief walking breaks).

Personal Information:
I'm Rachel... I'm still on Step 1 of my program (decreasing intake - at this point, trying to cut back on sugar and increase the amount of calories spent on veggies)

I have 3 kids--2 by birth, 1 by marriage, and over 100 pounds to lose. It's going to be a long haul, and I'm trying to be patient.

Other Information:
I enjoy watching movies and listening to my children read (I love to read, and it is so awesome to hear them enjoying it, too!)

How are you doing? I have been thinking about you lately and hope you have been able to stay on track. When all else fails, put on an iPod and walk as far as you can...

Hang in there and remember your needs may be at the end of the list, but make sure they make the list!
