No more excuses! I have been trying to get in shape for the last two years and now that I am ENGAGED and planning my wedding for June 16, 2012 it's time to make a permanent change to my lifestyle. I not only want to be a beautiful bride but I want to be healthy and fit so I set a positive example for my kids (way in the future!) My fiance and I are in this together, although he is trying to gain more muscle and tone, while I am trying to shed about 40 lbs!

weaknesses: restaurant food because once I've paid for it I feel like I have to finish it all, negative comments said behind my back, carbs!

~~~~HELPFUL STRATEGIES~~~~
I live on the third floor of my apartment building and there is no elevator!

--If I don't drive to campus, I have no choice but to walk back if I miss the bus

--Crystal Light helps me with my daily water consumption

--By telling all my friends how pleased I am with my success it holds me accountable for when I make slip ups because they are aware of it too so they try to encourage me.

--Whenever I feel frustrated or stressed with school I will work out. If I'm cramming for a test I focus a lot better looking over the material while plugging away on an elliptical rather than lounging around on my couch.

--I do SO MUCH better when I track my calories. When I don't, it's easier for me to add things to my daily diet that I would not otherwise.

--After dinner, I brush my teeth. I never want to ruin my fresh breath feeling in my mouth once I've brushed my teeth.

--I've put a hold on ALL clothes shopping until I meet small weight loss goals. I figure there is no point buying jeans now when 10 lbs from now they won't fit.

My Program:
I'm tracking my calories that I take in but also the ones I burn off. I'm cutting back on my portion size and I'm exercising 5-6 times a week. After reaching my 3 lb. goals I reward myself in some way to motivate myself to keep pushing forward with my progress. I just rewarded myself for losing 18 lbs. by starting tanning and doing Crest white strips!



Personal Information:
I'm getting married June 16 2012 and I refuse to begin my married life overweight. I am going to be a health teacher and eventually a high school counselor. I figure it's hypocritical to teach about exercise and nutrition if I don't follow through with it myself!


Other Information:
One of my favorite things to do is read. I have several favorite authors: Jodi Picoult, Nicholas Sparks, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, and Sophi Kinsella.

    Hi Cuz! So glad you're back on track so I can have a weight loss buddy, even if you are a few states away. It will be so much easier for both of us once you're closer, but for now.... this will do :D

    As much as your helpful strategies made me giggle, there are such good ideas behind them all and I really think they will help me as well. BRUSH TEETH IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING DINNER. Perfect!
    And yes, more crystal light. I've seriously been slacking on my water consumption.

    Diet soda is entirely addictive! I decided to go "off" of it a few weeks ago and was doing great at first, but have slowly added a few in every day! err... :)

    I do think that's it great that you're mindful of college weight gain - I didn't really pay attention to it until the summer after sophomore year... only 30 lbs too late!
