My Journey to Health

Back in my younger days, I played tennis, ran around and ate and drank w/o a care. When I started having fertility issues, I also started gaining weight. One day though I woke up to realize that that my actions had taken me to an unhealthy place. I want to be health again. I want to be (mostly) soda free. I want to walk up 4 flights of stairs w/o feeling pain in my calves or lungs. I want to play w/my kids more. I want my healthy life back!

I'm taking my life back, one day at a time. I'm exercising again and trying to eat more healthy. I would love for my children to see that people can turn around and that healthy living is thousands times better than not.

I've read these quotes below and wanted them on my own page:
"Think about how different life could be if you stopped emphasizing the end, the fix or getting there, and began enjoying each step of the way. If one moment was as good as the next. If the goal in life was not to fix yourself but to transform yourself. Here, after all, is a miracle; you are already on the journey. You already know and already have everything you need to continue. Relax, breathe, be kind to yourself and everyone else. Oh, there's one more thing; enjoy the ride!"
(Geneen Roth)

Apostle Paul to the Corinthians: "Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body." (1 Corinthians 6:19).

My Goals:
I want to run a 5k w/o walking part of it.

I'd like to have less cushion.

I want to be active with my son and daughter and teach them that incorporating fitness and activity as well as eating a nutritional diet in your own life is a must.

I want my sweet babies to think of the word diet not as a weight loss plan but as the way you eat.

I WILL cut sodas out.

My Program:
I've began to jog regularly for the first time and actually enjoy it. So I'm going to enter in running events. On top of that since water is the only thing that doesn't make me want to gag after any kind of work out, I will eventually cut sodas out of my daily diet.

Other Information:
I'm a homegrown-cradle Texas Catholic Lady minus being any kind of southern conservative.

Thanks for stopping by!

Good question about the crosses. Who knows? I think it certainly could be referencing the Holy Trinity. Or maybe the cross upon which Jesus hung, and the thieves on either side?

Your question reminded me of something:

At the church affiliated with the school where I work, the crucifix above the altar hangs in such a way that lights on either side of the altar shine upon it. At certain times of day, the light is such that there are two reflections, one on either side. I always am reminded of the Holy Trinity at those times!

May I quote you? Twinkie would laugh to hear that we fight like sisters. Just so you know, I met her and her husband. They were in NYC at winter holiday time for a few days. We managed to get together for a little while for breakfast on the day they were heading home. It was a pleasant get-together.

Your fitness is 100% mental. Your body will not go where the mind doesn't push it. emoticon

Your mind will stop before your body does. Is your fit is your mind? emoticon
