My Journey to Health

Once upon a time, I played tennis, ran around and ate and drank w/o a care. One day though I woke up to realize that that my actions had taken me to an unhealthy place. I want my mostly lean body back. I want to not crave soda. I want to walk up 4 flights of stairs w/o feeling pain in my calves or lungs. I want to play w/my kids more. I want my healthy life back!

I'm taking my life back, one day at a time. I'm exercising again and trying to eat more healthy. I would love for my children to see that people can turn around and that healthy living is thousands times better than not.

My new mantra: I am healthy. I am fit.

My Goals:
I'd like to run 5k w/o walking part of it.

I'd like to have less cushion.

I want to be active with my son and daughter and teach them that incorporating fitness and activity as well as eating a nutritional diet in your own life is a must.

I want my sweet babies to think of the word diet not as a weight loss plan but as the way you eat.

I WILL cut sodas out.

My Program:
I've began to jog regularly for the first time and actually enjoy it. So I'm going to enter in running events. On top of that since water is the only thing that doesn't make me want to gag after any kind of work out, I will eventually cut sodas out of my daily diet.

Other Information:
I'm a homegrown-cradle Texas Catholic Lady minus being any kind of southern conservative.

Hey thanks for the post on my page. I admit been having a hard time getting in a gallon of water. I've been getting about a half gallon. But Let push it this week a try to aim for a gallon.

Yay! I love getting new friends here on Spark :) Part of what keeps me going is being able to encourage other friends & having them encourage me back! I look forward to logging on each day and seeing how everyone is doing. I love that you run - I ran back in college (not very good, or fast, but I loved it). Unfortunately I got so overweight that I wasn't able to run for years, but now that I'm losing weight, I'm eager to start running again in the spring. My goal is to do the Color Run ...some day! Have a great day!

I would love if you joined me at the gallon a water challenge I have going on. I for one have a gallon of water that I use. I tried keeping track and always forgot how much I drank. So I fill up the gallon at night and drink it all day long until it is empty. The only other thing I'm aloud to drink during the day is my cup of coffee in the morning. Let me know how you are doing.
