I'm a 22 yr old new mommy who is completely in love with my little man and completely appalled at what he did to my body!

Now that I am recovered from my c-section I am looking forward to starting a new (healthy) life with my little family.

I am determined to lead by example for my son, to show the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.

I have a fairly long way to go, and with love and support from friends, family, sparkers and God, I know I can get there.

Ok, so how on earth is my son 5 months old now???

Overall, things have been going really well on my journey. I have lost nearly 30 lbs in about 3 months....though the first ten kinda fell off.

I have learned that I really enjoy exercising...specifically cardio kickboxing and strength trainning....who knew?!?

***UPDATE***

I fell off the wagon for a few months due to moving across 3 countries and then back again...I gained a bit back of the weight I worked hard to lose, but I am back on track and feeling stronger than ever.

Especially now that my beautiful son is 16 months old, I really want to be a great example for him.

My Goals:
*be able to jog a 5K

*feel comfortable wearing shorts and skirts

*not wanting to die when my husband suggests we go to the beach

*to buy clothes because I like the style and not just because they look "ok" on me


My Program:
*track calories on sparkpeople

*stay in the low range of my daily caloric allowance ( 1250-1400 cal)

*do 20 minute sessions of cardio kickboxing 5x/week

*strength train 4-5x/week

I am a 23 yr old teacher currently living in May-hee-co.

I live with my husband (Jason) , infant son (Charlie) and chihuahua (Socrates).

I love to read, write, sing and play guitar.

I am planning on raising my son at home until he reaches school age.

    Hello! emoticon Sparkpeople is a great place to meet your goals! I'm going to be 25 in May and i quit smoking 1 year ago. emoticon
    I lost over 30 pounds using Sparkpeople in the past after breaking my knee! emoticon Now I'm trying to lose the baby weight from my 6-month-old. emoticon I was 190 after i had him, because i was on bed-rest from 5 months on because i fell down a set of stairs. I had to wait 10 weeks postpartum to start physical therapy, then had to do 3 months of physical therapy and wasn't allowed to do anything else during that time.
    I started sparkpeople again as soon as i got off bed-rest and the doctor cleared me. emoticon

    Thanks for your comment on my blog. You say that you have a long way to go, but never look at is as a long way off. You can do this, but you need to take one step (one day) at a time. Just put your mind to it, don't waver and you will be there before you know it. YOU are your own best motivator.
