Getting fit in 2010!

Hello and welcome to my page :-)
I am a SAHM who needs motivation to lose the last of my "baby weight." Can you still even call it "baby weight" when your youngest is 2?!?!?
I have 40 pounds to lose to be the weight I was before having children, and I need to increase my fitness level in order to keep up with them!
8 years ago I lost 30 pounds while I was planning my wedding. I was able to maintain that weight loss until I started having children. I did not lose all the weight ...

8 years ago I lost 30 pounds while I was planning my wedding. I was able to maintain that weight loss until I started having children. I did not lose all the weight from my first pregnancy and then added more with the second pregnancy.
So I know I can do this, I just need a little extra motivation this time around!

These are 2 of the quotes that I have been telling myself throughout the day.
I have been measuring all my food and tracking it when I can. Portion control is important for me - that's my downfall!

*Zumba 1X a week
*Running or walking 8-10K a week
*Eating 1500-1800 calories a day
*burning 1000 calories a week

I actually enjoy cardio once I am doing it - the hard part is getting there! I love to run and walk outside or on my treadmill. It is "my time" and a great stress relief!

I had a cortisone shot in my shoulder and went to physical therapy for about a month - then one day it was infinitely WORSE after PT. So then they did surgery. They took off part of my collar bone, part of the AC joint and about half of the bursa sac. (Part of the bone was arthritic.) Anyway, it feels a lot better, except, like I said, if I sleep on it too long! (I sleep on my side with my arm straight up under the pillow.)

Do you have the opportunity to go to a pool? You can get your cardio in there - swimming or water aerobics - and no impact on your knee. (And no cold weather, either!) You get yourself into your orthopaedic doc soon!! It does NOT get better on it's own!! Oh yeah, have you had a cortisone shot? That worked wonders on my elbow a few years ago (not so much on my shoulder though). My mom gets "SynVisc" shots for her knee. She likes it.

Yes, I am on FB - "Andi 'Skittles' Toombs" - Skittles is my camp counselor name. I'll tell you about it sometime!!

I didn't track anything yesterday, but I said "No" to dessert, and ate relatively healthy. We have had sunny, but COLD and windy weather the last few days! Maybe I should at least take the dogs for a walk!!

I agree! I'm not as motivated either - at least to get started! Once I was in the swing of things last year, it wasn't so bad. It's just getting ... started.... UGH.

I have some incentive though - I am going with a gf to Baja in March! Might not be bikini ready by then, but would like to have some strength and stamina to keep up with her (she's 10 years older!) - go snorkeling, hiking, and, *GULP* - KITEBOARDING?!?! Don't want to be sore/hurt the first day, and then just have to sit around the rest of the week on the beach soaking up the sun and drinking margaritas! Oh wait....

I started getting shoulder pain (impingement) in June last year and finally had surgery in October. It is still healing, but much better. Only gets stiff/sore when I sleep on it too long. (But it's my favorite position to sleep in!)

SOOO... Felecia! Let's do this together!! We were such a great team last year!!! emoticon

How are you? I am trying to get back on the Spark Wagon!! I lost 20 lbs last year and managed to keep it off - but I have a long way to go!!

I am actually MISSING C25k - ready to strap my running shoes on again!!
