Meeting My Expectations

I've retired! Now I don't have an excuse for not exercising, or finding time for me. The world is my oyster, and I need to make the best of it!
I need to lose 80-100 pounds. I chose this photo because it is realistic. I'm not happy with it. It will be my "before" photo as I progress.

My Goals:
Long term: Lose 100 lbs for health and longevity.
Mid-term: I lost 26 lbs by 12/31/14. I plan to reach 215 (or less) by 3/29/15.
This Month: keep up the exercise, and complete the 30-day Walking challenge.
I am signed up for a 5K walking marathon on my birthday. I need to find one more 5K walk before 6/1/2015.
After 3/29/16: Spend 4-6 months in France immersed in the culture.

My Program:
Weekly exercise includes 3 aerobic, low-impact Jazzercise hours every week, and 2 body sculpting sessions (45 minutes, also Jazzercise).
I am also using the Spark Activity Tracker, and walk to meet my daily step goal. (Dang, that tool gets me up and out!)
I am logging every bite and calorie in, and every calorie burned through exercise. It keeps me "legal", and in control of my progress.

Personal Information:
I grew up in Massachusetts, and immigrated to California in 1981. I started my life over. My husband of 31 years and I travel when we can.
I enjoy singing. I've stopped directing, but I am singing with a local women's chorus.

Other Information:
We have a demanding calico cat named Penny and two grand-nephews, and a grand-niece.

Congrats on your weight loss so far! I also have the SparkTracker and love to see it light up.
My oldest son lives in CA and we will be visiting there soon.

Hey, I saw you over at the St. Patrick's Day Challenge article. emoticon

I added you as a friend, I hope that's okay! I have a lot of friends, and I love to read their blogs. I have less friends than my page says, though, because many people have left SparkPeople since I started. Still, it's good to keep them up on there, just in case you want to read their pages again later. They may have set things to "Friends Only," you know. emoticon
