Insanity 3x/week

I gained about 33lbs during my 1st pregnancy...10 of them packed on during my last month. I got back to my clean eating and exercise pretty quickly and was determined to get the baby weight off. I started exercising 2 wks postpartum and was doing Tae Bo 4-5 days/week.

I got pregnant again with my 2nd child when Myka was just 6 1/2 months old. Josiah Matthew was born 9 days "late" on 11/8/09. I gained about 35lbs with him and lost most of it, but I felt like I had to work extra hard to get the weight off this time.

We found out that I was pregnant AGAIN about 10 months after my son was born. At 12 weeks we had our first midwife appointment and they were unable to find a heartbeat...an u/s confirmed that our baby died a few days earlier and I had a missed miscarriage. It was one of the toughest things I have ever experienced. This happened in September2010. After some complications I ended up with an ambulatory D&C and PTSD. I have since recovered from that experience and have a full life with my hubby and kids.

I was 135lbs when I miscarried and gained 20lbs over the next few months. I'm not exactly sure why the weight just kept packing on...hormones? stress? depression?

I have been struggling with my weight ever since...I had my thyroid checked, I changed birth control, and I've switched up my exercise regimen...nothing has worked. Now I have to get control of my eating and be strict with myself again. I haven't counted calories since my big weight loss pre-babies so I guess I'll give it a shot.


MY SPARKPEOPLE SUCCESS STORY...
In April 2006 I decided that I was sick of being heavy, disgusted by how I looked, and tired of being tired! I was at my heaviest weight after starting a new job where I sit at a computer all day. I started packing on the pounds when I would eat out every day... huge mountains of cheese fries, hot dogs, chips, JUNK! The last number I remember reading from the scale was 210bs! I started exercising very slowly by doing about 15 minutes of Tae Bo every other day. It took everything out of me to do it... I was exhausted after 10 minutes. Even though I grew up knowing how to eat healthfully and mindfully, I still felt like dieting meant starving myself or eating nothing but salads. I really leared how to completely change my lifestyle with the help of SP and my new diet buddies. I starting counting calories and learned what a real serving was; combined with regular exercise, my new way of eating allowed me to drop about 10lbs/month. I started weight lifting and doing other forms of cardio like Turbo Jam and jogging outside in the summer which gave me some variation and MUSCLE! YAY! I feels so good to be healthy!!

I actually lost 70lbs between April and November, and have now kept it off for over a year! I found SP around May 2006 but didn't really start posting or taking advantage of the resources until the summer last year. I've really gotten to know some girls from the 10lbs Girls SparkTeam and a couple of us have even met recently. It's amazing the motivation we can offer each other! I look forward to talking with them every day; they're some of my closest friends. I've hit some bumps along the road and I haven't met my ultimate goal of 125lbs yet, but I have built character and endurance and I feel better than I have in a long time!

I always look at your page for motivation! I remember your first blog about finding out you were pregnant :o) I'm trying to lose the weight so I can get pregnant and have a healthier pregnancy than I would now. It's not easy- but you know that. Congrats - she is absolutely gorgeous. You are so lucky !
