Facing the reality of weight loss for me.

Hi!
I had gastric bypass surgery November 2006. I lost close to a hundred pounds. I am here because I have hit that spot where the weight has just stopped moving...Geez...if only that were true. Really, I have just stopped trying. The first bulk of weight after surgery came off without any effort from me. Now, it seems I must work to get the rest off. I am hoping that my joining this website will be the extra push I need to get back on track.

Hi!
I had gastric bypass surgery November 2006. I lost close to a hundred pounds. I am here because I have hit that spot where the weight has just stopped moving...Geez...if only that were true. It's hard to be one of the people who have had surgery to lose weight but never met an important goal...my goal to get below 200 pounds. I haven't seen that number for over 14 years. I have never felt the pride and satisfaction that I should after taking such a drastic measure; however, I have no regrets. I am healthier.

It's nice to meet you!
Terri

Excerpt from the SP acticle, "Basic Motivation for a Healthy Diet" by Joe Downie

"Demand more of yourself when it comes to nutrition. Our parents, teachers, bosses and coaches demand more and hold us accountable. Do the same for yourself. Be tolerant and understanding of your imperfections, but don’t justify and forgive yourself every chance you get. The most important consequences of our lives are staring us in the face – our healthy or unhealthy bodies!"

My Goals:
To be a better Christian.

To weigh less than 200 pounds.
To gain an inner confidence.
To feel proud of my accomplishes.
To become more active.
To feel great in what I wear.

My Program:
Count calories.
Drink 8 glasses of water each day.
Exercise three times a week.
Take vitamins daily.
Make mini weight goals.

Personal Information:
I'm a military brat. I know some dislike that label, but my being a "Military Brat" just means I am part of an exclusive club.
That is..."The club of those who don't remember much about their childhood".
When you move somewhere different every three years or less, your mind just kinda gives up on trying to remember the names of everyone you meet and all the places you have seen/lived.
(Okay, truthfully, I don't like the not remembering part)
Just like most military children, I am now a military wife. We are lucky though, our children have had the opportunity to grow up within the same area.

Hi! Just wanted to stop by and see what's new. I kinda inherited the Pottery team, so have been spending SP time lately learning how to be a leader. (Seriously, I didn't even know what the sticky topics were! lol)

There's yet another snow storm going on right now. I swear, this whole last year has had the craziest weather. It's not flooding here since we aren't near a river. Fargo & other cities near us are having a rough time though.

I've almost got my basement studio area set up. woohooo! A good thing since every tues/thurs that I'm set to drive 25 mi. to the ceramics lab there's some kinda weather advisory! lol.

Hope things are going well.
