I've been reading your site and we have a few similarities. I am 5 years older than you, I have over 100 pounds to lose, and I have a 5, soon to be 6, year old daughter. I wanted to send you some encouragement. I have two sayings I have been telling myself during this diet to keep me going.
1. I am not denying myself anything, I am just choosing something different. 2. Is it worth it? I basically go through those 2 thoughts each time I experience a craving or feel hungry and want to satisfy that sensation. I can choose to have it if I want it. But then I ask myself if it is worth it, and most of the time I say no. I also never say never. I can go out to eat with friends. I may choose to eat healthy, or not. The choice is mine. The consequences are mine. And sometimes it is just worth it.
I hope all of that helps you along the way. Emotional eating can be very difficult to overcome, but I believe you can do it. Take the emotion out of it by recognizing why you are heading to the kitchen, and find another way to destress (pray, exercise, play w/your duaghter, talk to a good friend). 2374 days ago
