My Goals:
Heavy all my life (except for two short periods when I lost the weight, then lost the battle to keep it lost). I want to be in the 'healthy' range, and have my body happier with me.


My Program:
Going down S-L-O-W-L-Y, by design [my MD & I agreed on approx. 2lb/month, because that way I have a better chance of keeping it off]
Choosing to use 'real' foods, because then I'll stick better, so portion control is ABSOLUTELY central. Re-education. Trying to re-orient on veg and fruit (I'm a cheese-a-holic).
Exercise? love it/hate it, mostly haven't time to do it well--but I'm trying--and my dogs are trying to help.

Personal Information:
"Britomart" is a female knight in one book of Spenser's epic The Faerie Queene. She meets challenges bravely--like I'm trying to do with health and aging.

I'm new to the practice of meditation, but I'm finding it so helpful in my quest to break/replace tired, old, useless habits. Taking time to pause and breathe and be mindful is such a wonderful tool.
