I have been trying to lose weight for as long as I can remember and it just keeps creeping up. I have just been taken off HRT because my sister has been diagnosed with breast cancer and I think it's time I made a radical change in my lifestyle. I think this is a wake up call I need to answer!

OK SO I DIDN'T DO IT! I NEED TO START ALL OVER AGAIN, I WENT TO WEIGHT WATCHERS AND THAT DIDN'T WORK SO I'M BACK AND HOPING TO GET ON TRACK AND LOSE WEIGHT. I PLAN ON TAKING IT SLOWLY TO START ...

I found this idea on MORRISDATTER's page, I thought it was a good way to motivate myself and show milestones.
Not that I have reached any yet!!! BUT I WILL.

10% accomplishments:
started at 212 pounds
10 percent loss=21 pounds-191 ACHIEVED !!! 14/6/2008 and then I UNACHIEVED it !!!!! But I WILL do it again!
10 percent of 191=19 pounds - 172 achieved..........
10 percent of 172=17 pounds - 155 achieved...........
10 percent of 155=15 pounds - 140, not sure if I want to lose this much but you never know how I might feel when I reach this target weight!!

My Goals:
I want to be slimmer and healthier. I want to have the energy to chase my grandson, run and play football with him and go for long walks like I used to be able to do.

My Program:
Logging the food I eat. Back to basics, count calories and do more exercise. I have started to be aware of times I can fit walking into my work day as well as going for walks in my spare time. I started on short walks and now am aiming at walking for 1500 minutes in March 2008, and I'm well on the way to meeting that goal.

Personal Information:
I live in Derby in central England. We are close to beautiful countryside with lots of walks and country houses with lovely gardens and grounds to walk in.
I teach childcare to mainly asian women in a women's only training centre. I love my job and seem to learn as much from my students as they do from me. Before that I spent 20 years working with children in different settings but mainly as a childminder while my own 2 boys were small.


Other Information:
I enjoy reading mystery novels and family history which is like my own mystery story. It is so rewarding to find out new information about my ancestors.

We're almost at the end of the 3rd week and you are managing some great walking steps,you started off slow but have made it up with a great consistency as the month has progressed - looks like you've found your pace, - excellent, thats what I call progress.

Keep finding that Spring in your step and look back on april with pride!

Please feel free to count your 'ordinary do anyway' steps - these still count as activity towards your 10,000 steps a day as recommened by experts for good health. Everybody else on the team does and its expected, otherwise you'll be shortchanging yourself out of your achievements lol!

If you actually 'go for a walk' too - then obviously this is fab - but walking is walking, no matter how it is done.

Look forward to seeing your step count rise soon !
